Re: FIFA World Cup Germany 2006
After seeing Brazil tonigh I'm sure they won't even reach the final. In my opinion, they were clearly a dissapointment. Except for Kaka, the others were anythere else, but on the pitch. Ronaldihno was barely visible, Ronaldo had a single shot, etc. etc. etc. I would say they were very lucky with the win, due to a great shot from Kaka.
But what happened to the French? I wasn't able to watch the match, but I was really surprized to hear they ended 0 - 0. ;)
Re: FIFA World Cup Germany 2006
I vote for Australia, my country!
Re: FIFA World Cup Germany 2006
Hey mate, where are you Australian ? I see you vote for it too.

I wish Norway was there to teach them a lesson...what've been got into the samba?...

that was a dissapointing match...both teams suck...and even the ref sucks:D...Korean vs Togo match was better than that match...incomplete passes...lack of good move...lack of sportmanship...even quarelling with each other (France)!...Zizou can't even make a different...not that he played badly, but lack of understanding in the team made him looked frustrated with his team...as usual, Henry seems can't show his brilliant moves when perform for his country ...rating of the match: 1 out of 5...
anyway Korean's attack was improved when Ahn Joo Huan(waht the spelling again? :o ) was brought in I guess...a fairly good match :thumb: ..
Re: FIFA World Cup Germany 2006
Brazilians were not at all impressive. It seemed as if they are the not the team that will win the world-cup. Their defence was really poor.
Re: FIFA World Cup Germany 2006
I am a little bit disappointed by the images. Cameras have been placed so high in the stadiums that the players are like miniature toys, like if they were filmed from a satellite. Sometimes a camera, near the ground, shows a closer view, but then, only the head and arms of the players are shown, as if the feet had no importance, as if this was a game of baskeball. There is almost no intermediate views with a few full-length players. Besides, there some strange shadows in some stadiums.
Otherwise, France did not play very well, unfortunately, but maybe they will be better later.
Spain 4 - 0 Ukraine
Spain is playing too well. They will easily win all of their matches, even in the finale against ... probably Ecuador.

that is normal for a big stadium like that...and it's ok for me...and the benefit, we can have a good view of moves/through-pass/run/etc...

yeah! I hope so too...even if it's a draw or a lose, I expect more good game from those high-class players....

kudos to spain :thumb:..good game with a good result...Ecuador to the final, urm...hardly to say:D...but maybe ...I didn't really know this Ecuador team...
last night games are all good games...even Tunisia vs Saudi Arabia :thumb:...an entertaining game I must say....especially the 2nd half...well, Germany vs poland is another...with some dissapointing moves though....
Re: FIFA World Cup Germany 2006
Tunisia vs Saudi Arabia was the most exciting game till now. And another game bought disappointment for Poland. I was thinking that the captain was not playing responsibily after getting first Yellow Card.

But let's tbe honest: the Germans were very lucky. It was this close to be a dissappointing game for them.
The Spaniards played so well against Ukraine. Were was their superstar, Shefchenko (ok , I didn't spell it correctly)?
I'm looking forward to see England against T&T this evening.
Re: FIFA World Cup Germany 2006
You guys must be crazy counting Brazil out after that one game. They did
a much better job than England did in their first game and against a much better team.
I hope Messi is not hurt to badly. That would probably kill Argentina's chance.
I have to say, all the teams I have seen play have played respectably, except the USA.
Re: FIFA World Cup Germany 2006
We are not counting Brazil out, its just that the way they performed in their opening game was not at all impressive.
I agree with Cilu that Germans were lucky to get the last minute goal. But somehow I feel bad for Poland.
Re: FIFA World Cup Germany 2006
Yes, except for the Czechs, all the favorites didn't played very well in the first round. But if they want to win the cup they have to spare their efforts and play enough just to win. There are 7 matches to play to win the final. And I think that could be seen in all teams game, especially at those that played at 15:00 CET on a hot weather.
I would like to see Messi at work (epsecially because he's in my fantastic team :D), and Rooney also.
I didn't say Brazil is out of chances, but I think they will be the victim of too much attention this year, and they will let many people dissapointed.
Well, after the first round, I would say Ukraine was the most dissapointing team, not USA. Frankly I did not expect much from USA, but I did from Ukraine. They have several amazing players and they did not leave up to their fame at all.
Let's see what the second round brings.
Re: FIFA World Cup Germany 2006
yup! Messi is one of the many to be paid attention to...he's a promising lad IMO...will Rooney play tonight?...
well, I didn't expect Germany to score too many goal in a match...they played long-ball after all....and Poland looked like they just wanted a draw last night and defend themselves as much as they can...maybe it's a bit of luck but that's fottball for us...
lets make some predictions...
Ecuador 3 - 1 Costa Rica
England 2 - 1 Trinidad (or maybe Trinidad can make it 1-1:D) EDIT: or 0-1:D
Sweden 0 - 2 Paraguay
Re: FIFA World Cup Germany 2006
No. I really don't think T&T can score against England, but I don't expect too many goals from England either, perhaps a 2 - 0. OTOH, I think Sweden will win this time against Paraguay.
