I am not a big fun of reading on computer (a paper variant is more better for me), but if it so, can U post them to me?
No, I got them in the "real" mail. They are the paper books.
Sorry
Understand. By the way, I have at workQuote:

"Effective STL". Not so long time ago, I buy a "Exceptional C++" and "More Exceptional C++" by Herb Sutter and now have a big fun by reading them :)
I just got Self-Organizing Maps and Neural Networks for Pattern Recognition in the mail. What a coincidence!:DQuote:

If that's really the case, spend :
1) 35% of it on your wife
2) 15% for your mistresses(sssss) >:->
3) 50% for the rest of the girls in your neighbourhood(give barbie dolls for the little girls[HOW CUTE!], buy cosmetics for the teenage girls and buy health-care products for the women)

Nah, just kidding! Sounds like fun though.
2 things :
Firstly, to let this thread get alive.
Secondly, to voice out something I never had the chance to, in the past.
Now, now, now...Gabriel.....gimme a good reason why you closed that thread started by Solar?! This is not the first time, k??!!
That thread contains no marketing, no porn, no sex, no terrorist ads or vulgar stuff...and you had to close it?!
The job of moderators in an online forum is to stimulate discussion, not just to ban people or close threads.
Gabriel pal...you really should have a look at the other forums.
The moderators edit the posts at times only when the posts contain full porn or direct advertising links.
They spend the majority of their time encouraging the folks to post and such, and you're just doing the opposite? Closing threads?! This is crazy!
Imagine that you wanna post a reply with an interesting post and the thread is closed?
This is the same as being really urgent and you're trying to get to the toilet, only to find that the toilet door is stuck, and you're helpless.
In addition, I wonder why Brad didn't say anything.
This is getting serious, I say.
I didn't send a private e-mail to Gabriel or Brad at this time because that's direct confrontation, and things hasn't reach that stage yet.
Besides, I feel that the members of CodeGuru have a say in this issue of "closing and mass destruction of entire threads, mindlessly".
Now, if this post is deleted by any moderators whatsoever, then I'm gonna report this matter. You cannot destroy threads without any valid reason.
See? This is what happens when the moderators have too much power, and this is the same as the kind of things that happen when the rulers of any one country has full say in everything.
Lastly, you members of CodeGuru! Shouldn't you be backing me up when you agree with what I say?
Oh yes, and where's the girls? I've always been nice to them.
And dear Mick?

The last to write is Gabriel, but it is said that he would loose if the thread is closed. This way, no one wins. Not even Solarflare whoise ego was just crushed as his thread did not get even remotely as long as he probably expected ;) :D :D
Xeon, you should read that thread prior complaining: it was Yves who closed it. And I am NOT going to overrule his decision. Speak to Yves if you want the thread reopened.

- knights do not play dirty tricks in a jousting tournament
- a real man will never resort to unclean acts on helpless folks
As a moderator, shouldn't you be doing some real good instead of accepting the negative actions?
And oh, Yves. Drats! How can you do this to us?! I'm so disappointed! Remember the good old days?! How can you?!
Aye~.
I sincerely propose to Brad publicly that the number of and powers of moderators be limited.
In the old old days, there was only 1 unique moderator(excluding Brad) per 1 forum.
Now, Moderator A can destroy Thread A in Forum A and Moderator C can destroy Thread B in Forum D and Moderator E can destroy and edit post C in Thread A of Forum B.
It's a mess!
If I were moderator....I would re-open the thread with my force and liberate those and give them their deserved right to post!!!
Then, after I've re-opened that thread, Brad can un-make me as moderator and reduce my status quo from Member to Slave or Servant.
This is for the good of CodeGuru!

Yes, it is a very serious issue indeed. The very informative thread, where the serious CG participants tried to find out who can post the most crap, was closed. This leaves a huge hole in the GCs Knowledge Base. Irreparable, indeed.Quote:

And yes, in the good ole~ days when we were pirates, MiCk......young 'uns like Gab couldn't even do anything to us except sit and lisson to our barks!
Those were the days when we were great seamen and we had the ladies all to ourselves, whenever and wherever we want.
We shouldn't have listened to Flint's last wishes, though. Depending on circumstances, I might visit the Eastern Islands again to search for John, who was marooned 16 years ago.
Then, I'm gonna be a rough old pirate and drink rum all day again, with the skies above my head and the sea beneath my pants. Those moments.....aye~.
I wouldn't even have to bow down and lisson to the accursed whims of that C++ compiler, and you don't even have to be loyal to your wife, MiCk.:cool:

You have funny laws in The States. Do 90 in a 30 zone here in Switzerland, and meet the cops: your license IS gone, trust me. And you also get a very high bill, plus a free ride in the cops car. On the other hand, you can have as much beer, wine and scotch in your car as you want.Quote:

Hi All,
Can anyone tell me, How much Salary should I demand if I get a job in France? I am 5 yrs experienced in VC++ and a married person.
Some consultant was asking me abt Expectations and I was cluless!
Thanks,
Sharad
Not really, he should have took my license. The problem is, he couldn't prove it. No radar on, just his word. He let me off, he didn't have to...been lucky like that.. As far as booze, well we just passed a stupid law in MD, that says...NOBODY can have an open container in the car...now that's just silly, the driver as usual can't have an open container, but man come on...summer time, hitting the beach, why can't I/we as passengers throw back some cold ones on the way..dumb....the next state over West Virgina doesn't even have an open container law, meaning if your the driver, you can chug a beer while your driving..now that's stupid.Quote:

Where are you going in France? Because that can change a lot of things. There are places (around Paris and Nice) where you can ask for much more than other places (doesn't mean you'll live better though).
Wow, Mick, nice bike, always was in love with bikes, but but but ... not in love with money to get it ... hm... at least now I hope only now, not in future  :D

Being married or not do not make any difference for you rsalary expectations in France. At least I don't think so.Quote:

Anyway, this can still depend on what studies you did. I would say 36000 euros a month minimum. You may ask for 40K if you are good in something specific (not general like C++), and if you are a man.
Marina
You mean 3600, not 36000, do you?Quote:

Well in first place, you speak here in euros, and not US dollars. And you give a value you want to get for the whole year. I made a mistake in my previous message. It was 36K a year!! not a month.Quote:

Anyway, that's a value, before the taxes are taken off. Some are taken off directly from your salary, around 20%. Then you will ave to give some tax later durong the year.
Do you need more explanations??? anyway, I'm sure Elrond is as qualified as myself to explain this tax stuff. I gave you the salary I can pretend to, but that's because I have 4 years of experience, and I made a engineer school (5 years of study), and I have some experience abroad.

Actually, mines prettier...it's red/black/gray, with a yoshi pipe, just couldn't find a shot of my bikes style <I think I'll actually do a insane search for my bike style today>...so went with an F-4...I have a F-2 1993...only cost 7500 back in 93...want to get a new f-4 or a GSXR750....I love to ride...Quote:

Here's a hint, if your gonna buy, buy a used one, kids buy bikes, and ride them for like a year, then sell them really dirt cheap because the fascination is over, you can get a used SuperBike with less than 3k miles on it...it's sad...if you gonna buy a bike, ride it man!!!
Your kidding? 36K??? Ok so that's like the equiv. of 80K in the states right? I mean something like that right? Crap-o-la if I got paid 36K I'd be blowing things up....Quote:
