Re: 2005-2006 European Football Cups Season
And ...that is what happens when 2 good teams contest...Chelsea and Man Utd...you dont expect either of them to be crushed by the other by some 5+ goals...do you??? :D There is a marginal difference in performance and a little bit of luck that decides the outcome...
That was one of the greatest contests of football since Liverpool's win over Milan in last Champions League Final.
Re: 2005-2006 European Football Cups Season
HA! Surprize. Gheorghe Hagi, best Romanian football player eher have just signed with Poli Timisoara for 2 years and a half. Coaching, of course (he has retired a few years ago). :thumb:
Re: 2005-2006 European Football Cups Season

Re: 2005-2006 European Football Cups Season
And Manchester is struggling for survivor. I predict a failure in passing to the next round. They will be the only English team that won't make it for the next round.
BTW, this Thursday, in Ukraine, Shaktior and Rapid Bucharest met eachother. As I was telling you Shaktior is coached by Mircea Lucescu and Rapid by his son, Razvan Lucescu. And the son won. ;) It was kinda hard for him. He almost cried at the press conference. The father was kinda upset on UEFA because they sent a special observer for fears of a fixed match.

Re: 2005-2006 European Football Cups Season
It's again Romania 3 - 0 Europe. :D Wednesday and Thursday Dinamo, Steaua and Rapid won their matches in UEFA Cup. Steaua and Rapid are qualified for the next round, Dinamo must not loose the next match in Marseille, or Heerenveen must not win agains Levski Sofia.
Anyway, Romania in on top the the UEFA chart of country coefficients right now. :D
That feels good... ;)
Re: 2005-2006 European Football Cups Season
Bravo Roumania (or just Bucarest)!
How come such a good nation of football has only 3 clubs in European cups, which is the same number than for the Feroe Islands, Malta, Cyprus, and Luxembourg.
The chart is interesting. I had not noticed before the poor result of Croatia this year, which is a pity.
However, in spite of the excellent results from Romania, I think Juventus will win this year.

You know, actually this is the first year after 5-6 when we have more than 1 teams in European Cups. Not even we don't know what happened, how come they play so good. Probably because lately, the players did not left for teams abroad and they play in the same formation, basically, for 2-3 years (this is less true for Dinamo).

Our teams play in the UEFA Cup. Juventus is playing the the UEFA Champions Leage.
Though I am a fan of Dinamo Bucharest, I think Steaua Bucharest is strong enough to win UEFA Cup.
Re: 2005-2006 European Football Cups Season
Thank you Glazers. See you bankrupt.
Re: 2005-2006 European Football Cups Season
MU just need a draw...but they 'managed' to lose 1-2 to Benfica...that's terrible...
but as Liverpudlian, I still regard MU as a worthy rival...more worthy than the Blues;)...
anyway, Barca is running wild:thumb:...I enjoy watching their games...
Re: 2005-2006 European Football Cups Season
Thats pathetic.. I am so so so so so ... mad and sad.. all my friends are boo-ing me.. .. they have let me down..
//TRANSFERS .. TRANSFERS.. united need some good TRANSFERS.... the team that boasted of the most gifted midfield is the weakest now in that area...
///spend some cash ... get some classy players...
//get rid of Ronaldo.. he is so individualistic in his approach.. he is not at all a team player... he may be a great players of football .. but i think he keeps the ball too much with himself.. doesnt pass them at the right moment.. get rid of him soon.. and Silvestre in the back.. he has lost so many crucial matches for Man U.. for France.. France's Euro exit could be completely blamed on to him...
Re: 2005-2006 European Football Cups Season
This is the result of a very bad management in the last years. It's the final result of a process that started the day Ferguson threw a boot in Beckham's face. Since Beckham's departure, United is in a continuous drift. And yesterday and era ended. At least this is what I see.
They let go some key players and brought young and/or unexperienced players. The mid line is awful. Giggs and Scholes are too old, Smith is a striker forced to play midfielder. And let's be serious, who are these guys Park, Richardson? This team is a mess. Woth 3 goals scored in 6 games clearly did not deserve to go forward.
And the problem is they no longer have money to buy expensive players. The Glazers have transformed the club from the richest in the world to one with the greatest debts. 450 mil pounds. Awful.
So what I think is that it can only go worse for United. They are a shame!
SHAME TO THEM!
Re: 2005-2006 European Football Cups Season
nah!...it's not a the end of the world for MU yet...they still got the quality to challenge the top clubs...even if Beckham was there, he can't do anything...just look how he perform for Real Madrid....he'd lost some of his abilities now...
Re: 2005-2006 European Football Cups Season
I havent considered Beckham that much of a force to get a team going.. he is a good winger... a good passer and good free-kicks .. but personally I think he is one of the most over-valued over-hyped player in the world...
Moreover the wings are not a problem for Man U.. its the central midfield.. the 2 positions in the center... Park is a real good self-less player .. I have seen him play in the matches he started .. and he has impressed me and I think he is upto the Man U standards.. but yeah for richardson etc.. I dont know what they are...
Sometimes I even doubt Ruud of calibre.. he doesnt fight for the ball at all.. look at other strikers.. rooney, henry, drogba, gudjohnsen, crespo... and other guys from the top clubs..they fight for the ball.. keep good possession.. and this guy..Ruud.. gets the ball and loses it quite easy.. he is just a guys who just knows to tuck the ball in to the goal and he is not even doing that good enough these days...
Forget about giggs..scholes.. they are legends and they should voluntarily retire now.. rather than something happening to them as did with keane.. Smith is aweful in the midfield.. he is just sliding..fighting ... etc etc.. no real talent... but yeah the one thing i like about him is his tempo in the games.. he values each game enormously... but there is no way that he can become the new play-maker for Man U..
One more thing I think is that all the guys in the midfield these days are attacking midfielders.. they dont seem to reach out to the defense lines when their defenders need it.. all tend to push forward.. that leaves holes.. and that is the reason they seem to be conceding this lot these days..
Of all the players.. I dislike ronaldo the most.. he is so so so selfish when he has the ball.. fergie should get rid of him or try managing him better...
I could go on and on.. but it doesnt matter.. I just can hope things improve.. and I am really scared about Man U that nothing happens to them similar to Leeds United.. which are now nowhere in the scene these days...
Get some good transfer Fergie.. you need it the most at this time..
