Actually, at full force the US could easily conquer a nation like Canada. Unfortunately we are not at full force because we have hundreds of thousands of troops stationed all over the world... go figure.

Acutally and I always love to go back to this, a shipping company in annapolis, held up 1/3rd mind you of canada's armour forces coming back from bosnia because they didn't pay that little thing called a bill...hmm 1/3rd...in one ship if I recall correctly. It depends where... In France the min is 5 weeks, but it could be more!

In Ireland it is 4 weeks. It's not bad, but it's never enough when one live abroad from your country. Go see one's family takes almost all one's vacation time...

There's plenty in Ireland I have not had time to visit yet because I never had enough days off to take to visit Ireland, and even though the country is small, the roads are bad enough and it takes half a day (at least) to get from one side to the other.

Keep in mind what a disaster it was the last 2 times the US tried to take Canada. In the revolutionary war and during the war of 1812 the US got its noogies wapped by trying that :)

Err we didn't try and take Canada at all, you see, there was no 'canada' in the war of 1812/the french and indian war...and I don't recall any armed conflict in the revolutanary war that extended into northern british territories...but maybe that's me...

And we didn't get our noogies handed to us, rather the treaty of ghent said, everyone get back to their original noggy starting points, and we'll all be fly with each other from now on.

Think I had this converstation somewhere before with someone on here ;) But I guess I would say like I said before...canada wasn't canada, (and you might say it still isn't) it was either french or british...

Actually on that note...I took a vacation up in the Adirondacks in new york, round lake george, very nice, very kewl, highly recommend anyone to take a nice relaxing woodsy vacation up to lake george or lake placid. Visited Fort Ticonderoga while I was up there, wish I could find the pictures the monument/fort etc that we took up there, and lake george...big thumbs up..

Benedict Arnold commanded an expedition to try and take Quebec during the revolution. There was a small pox epidemic in his troups and when he got there he had no way of taking a fort unless the French Canadians joined him.earlyamerica.com/review/fall97/arnold.html

There are some Chinese Muslims in Singapore but I'm not a Muslim. In fact, there are Chinese Hindi (Chinese whose religion is Hinduism), Taoist Chinese, Chinese Christians. But majority of the Chinese in Singapore are either Buddhists or Christians.

I always suspect Xeon's religion is Christianity as he kept mentioning about "Lord". Maybe Xeon can clarify.:D

No. It's sad that any religion is used in such a manner. The christians are one up on the muslims, cause they have been around a bit longer, so they had the crusades, then got over it. Waiting for the fanatical muslims to get over it.

Because they are of a different religion, and that is "worse" than to be of a different skin colour. Religion has brought much more wars than racism. And may be theior way of living, the fact that they were spread all around the world in small group rather than in big countries, made them easy victims.

Jews are just of a different and older religion. Basically, Jesus Christ was a Jew. As being the messiah for some Jews, these branched to a different religion that is now Christianism.

Only can say that I hate (well the better to say I donot like) when someone, who arrived to some country from other, donot want to respect peoples of this new country, their custom's rules and abuses their national feelings.
Some about jews, in the begin of last centure there are a lot of Jews here in Belarus (even there were towns where the most but of citisens were Jews). Most of them were killed or died in special jails (during war - Geto) during the 2-nd World War or by Soviets. Both Hitler and Stalin didn't like them.
I can say that usually U cannot find a stupid Jew, most part of them are kind peoples (high education, ...).

Have you read the book Babi Yar (I think that is the title). That is
a book that I would definitely recommend.

Well, I know about this. As I remember, Babi Yar - this is a place near Kiev where many Jews were killed.

However, I have found that if I meet a person and get a chance to make that judgement, I typically end up hating them. Ah well:( life sucks, as exemplified by most of the living.

Yes thanks, I found cool places to go to, where in the rest of France it was so hot.
I stayed in Brittany which is a great part of France.
I made some nautic activities and riding a bicycle. My back is sour, work will calm this pain. :)
