I don't remember anyone here saying he was Malaysian. But you're probably not the only one from CodeGuru.
Anyway, welcome.

Welcome shahnk,
and welcome to any malaysian.
I don't know much about malaysia. Except that most of the country in on a island and I think the capital city is not on the island. Then there is a big difference between living on the continent or on the island.
Is that true Shahnk? How is your country?
Marina
Malaysia consist of 14 states and 2 of them in on the borneo island. the island actually shared by the countries, Indonesia, Brunei and Malaysia.
Well, there is not much difference between the island and the continent, except the continent is far more developed econimically,
But actually the two states on the island is the best tourist atraction in malaysia, though i only been the once..
And yes,(Kuala Lumpur) the capital is in the continent. its in between singapore and thailand.
Well, so I was mostly wrong :-)
Thank you for this information.
Marina
I work 7 hours a day, and half of them wasted reading this thread... (and i only manage to read half of them)..
Am i gone crazy? or I'm bored to death? Either way, if I keep this up, I'll have to find myself another job..
Shhhhhhhh!! got to go. My bos is coming...
 I didn't think some one would still be crazy+courageous+bored to even try to read this whole thread.
I'm sure you know plenty of things now that we all have forgotten ! :p :D :D

So, Yves, you've been in Switzerland and haven't dropped an email. Not nice...
BTW: Hello all, nice to "see" you again!
I'm sorry Gabriel. As far as I remember you live quite a long way from Villars (you live in the Weird-German-Speaking part, no?).Quote:

Where do you live exactly? My cousin lived in Salzburg for some time and I had no trouble understanding that. My sister lives in Zurich and I can definitely say that I don't understand much swiss-german ;)Quote:

@Mick: No, there is no turtle :(
Salzburg? My sister studies there and she said that the most Salzburger speak "Hochdeutsch" (****, I don't know the english word for it, sry) so it's no problem. I can give you an example of my "bad" german, if you want ... ;)
I don't know Wels, but I do know Linz, which is a bit to the North-East. I'm sorry to disappoint you, I don't know the Wels zoo either. ;)
Then you can sleep safely at night without fear of THE TURTLE.Quote:

Maybe its time to make a new poll.. how bout "What Gender You Are?" .
even its obvious that 98.999% of gurus here are men, why don't give it a try. it would be suprising to see girls into programming actually! Even in my office, only 2 girls, compared to the those men in here..those men actually make me sick!! It actually a pleasure working with girls..pretty girls of course..:D
We already had such kind of a thread. I know only 4 girls which are/were participating here... Hm.. but some members had proved that they are something average between a man and a women...
/"Are U a boy or a girl?" "I haven't decided on"
Wels ... *hm* A bit more in south, and its an ugly city ;) (huh: I'm working there ...) and it's zoo isn't good either.Quote:

@Tom and Mick: But I fear these emus, I think they want to control the entire world! ;)
If somebody want to visit this zoo, come and visit me too, this village is soooo boring ...
At my school there are 20 girls by 100 men ... *aehae* but every year the girl section grows ... and grows ...
to live under the rule of the emus is far better than to live under the jackbooted rule of the moo moo'sQuote:

I think i get paranoid now, may neighbour is a farmer with moo moo's ... plus these emus ... oh my good ...
There is one good think: I live next to this zoo and I get discount when I want to go in ...
but check it out: www.krenglbach.at << This is the boooooring village, I'm looking for a picture of this conspiracy emus ... hang on a little bit ;)
oh my good take a look at the "Tiere des Monats" at http://www.zooschmiding.at << this is this zoo ;)
p.s.: the rules of the flamingos are harder, and they are cruel ...

Okay I have a real question for all the Russians out there... the written language is cyrillic, right? I have a Russian friend who claims this isn't true... I need to know if she's yanking my chain or not. I've always thought both of the above to be true.
I'm not a russian, but afaik they are using the cyrillic (spelling?) alphabet, along with the bulgarians, ukrainians and a couple of other countries. Now one probably could argue whether the term "cyrillic" is 100% correct. Fact is thet it isn't the western alphabet (nor the greek one, by that matter).Quote:

Well, for the sake of clarity, I'm not a russian, but I speak/write Russian.
Yes, Belarussian, Ukraine, Russian languages are cyrillic family.
There are some character coddings for these languages (koi8-r, cp1251, ...), but that doesn't bother the fact that these languages are cyrillic.
What your girl-friend says, if it's not true, that what's true?
I still remember our russian teacher hammering the alphabet in our heads "a-be-ve-ghe-de-ie-io..." It's because she was so nice that I can't speak a single word russian now...
Smth like, "If U don't know any russian word, how U'll able to build our sunny Kommunizm future... repeat everybody a-be-ve...." :DQuote:

How long did U live in Bulgaria (as I remeber), Gabriel?
Six hours ( ) last winter, as my plane couldn't land in Bucharest (Romania) beacuse of a blizzard, and landed in Sofia (Bulgaria) instead. I'm a romanian.Quote:

I don't know... I didn't pursue the issue because I was so utterly confounded by her claim that I was incorrect.Quote:

It's good to know a couple of extra languages. I'm Ukrainian by birth and American by nationality(for those of you who don't know already).
