I don't think United has money for that. They have debts of 450 mil pounds. That's huge... Dam.n Glazers...Quote:

World cup, Germany 2006.
Group A: Germany - Costa Rica - Poland - Ecuador
Group B: England - Paraguay - Trinidad and Tobago - Sweden
Group C: Argentina - Côte d'Ivoire - Serbia and Montenegro - Netherlands
Group D: Mexico - Iran - Angola - Portugal
Group E: Italy - Ghana - United States - Czech Republic
Group F: Brazil - Croatia - Australia - Japan
Group G: France - Switzerland - Korea Republic - Togo
Group H: Spain - Ukraine - Tunisia - Saudi Arabia
Top two teams in each group are qualified.
Although I'm French, I agree with you Exterminator about Sylvestre who is not a very good player.
I don't understand either why Michael Essien was chosen by Chelsea.
I think Manchester United's period of glory is over now. Teams have good and bad cycles.
About good British players, Franck Lampard should not be forgotten.
Well, the fixtures were "fixed" so that Germany and Brazil can not meet until the final. What a shame on FIFA and Germany! I understand that Germany wants a rematch for the lost final of 2002, but what they did is totally incorrect.
The C group is a killer. I would say Argentina and the Netherlands will go true, but both Ivory Coast and Serbian and Montenegro could make a surprize. It's a group where anything can happen. As for the other top teams, Germany, England, Protugal, Itally, Czech Republic, Brazil, France and Spain have a relative easy task to pass to the next round.
It will be interesting to see Ericson playing against Sweeden. I've seen him laughing when they drew Sweeden out of the pot.
Anyway, an European team must win this time. South-americans never won in Europe, Europeans never won outside Europe. It's simple. ;)
I'll support Togo:D....
anyway, it's good to see Liverpool on a good run...the first opponent is the "purple monster"....Red against Purple, what colour is more striking?....hmmm:D...
Liverpool vs Sao Paolo....place your bet:D....
What a draw in UCL.
1. Chelsea - Barcelona
2. Real Madrid - Arsenal
3. Werder Bremen - Juventus
4. Bayern - AC Milan
5. PSV Eindhoven - Lyon
6. Ajax - Inter Milano
7. Benfica - Liverpool
8. Rangers - Villarreal
The English teams play agains Iberians. Chelsea vs. Barcelona, the real final of the competition. I put my bets on Chelsea, agan. ;)
It will also be interesting to see Arsenal entertaining Real Madrid.
Bayern vs. Juventus is another close encounter.
I still believe Chelsea will win the competition this year.
darn!...Sao Paolo...
Chelsea vs Barcelona...Barcelona will triumph:thumb:...
this week match: Man U vs Liverpool....
this schedule is always interest me....
I won't bet on United. They suck lately.
yup...but I still view MU as the great rival for Liverpool;)...they've a long history together...Quote:

In just a few hours United will play at home against Liverpool. Let's see what Fergie can do.
Right now, Chelsea is 16 points clear at the top of the table. United is second with one point ahead of Liverpool who has 2 games less. I think any team would need a huge miracle to take the title away from Chelsea this season (again ;) ). Se what money and a good coach can do? ;)
I really hope so. And I'm a Madrid fan. :DQuote:

Ha, Chelsea drew at home 1 - 1 against Charlton Athletic. :D Pointless anyway. ;)
