I got this idea from India. A long long time ago, a Maharaja(Indian king) wanted to cut down all the trees of one village due to some reason.
One little Indian girl asked all the villagers to hug the trees when the kings' men came. In the end, the good Maharaja didn't cut the trees because there were real people hugging them(something like human shields). :D
That was not long-long time ago. Less than 100 years. And it was no Maharaja. They were forest contractors given permit by the then government (British).

On the other hand, do u have kids already? If not, then go and have at least one, before I use my beak to perform the desired brutality on you. This way, at least u still have a kid before you can't bear anymore.

Yeah, those guys were pretty rude. Actually, both are in the wrong, though. These Chinese tourists(I know not all) shouldn't be spitting on a hotel's carpet.....it's.....crazy!
Anyway, let it pass. No use arguing over something that's not related to us.
If I'm a tourist caught in that situation, I would ask the hotel staff what that means. If he continues being rude to me, I'll speak to his higher-ups, and all the way up the chain of command if needed.
If their hotel CEO doesn't give a darn, I'll report to my embassy. My embassy will speak with their local embassy and if all else fails, my embassy will relate the problem to my Prime Minister and they'll take it from there, on a country-to-country level.
After which if things still fail, war is next. :D

Why, you know me so well, Deniz pal!
Indeed, I get not just kicks, but extreme thrills and grand pleasure from trying forbidden and to-the-limits kinda things.
This is why I always never hand in my homework since grade school, skip classes and play truant for the last 2 years in my high school and play truant throughout my 2 years in vocational school.
However, in the army, I never tried any of these, because I'm smart and I know the chances of me winning is 0.
Maybe I gotta see a doctor some day, but then, it's good in a way.
Girls love unpredictable and dangerous guys. Da' man.

Well, since this is a China-related thread, I would like to hear what EC and PCZhang, and other mainland Chinese here, have to say about my opinions of China. Please don't get offended, but this is political views we're dealing with.
First of all, I've been having this feeling that there WILL be a World War III, and China will be the aggressor. This is my personal views, so relax.
I dunno how the Chinese people think, but I know this kind of thinking may already have existed in the minds of the Chinese government.
China is getting richer, in both the economy and more powerful in the military.
In history, every country who go down this route of vast expansion will definetly land themselves in war with other countries decades later.
Look at Germany and Japan. Even Britain, in the 15th - 18th century, grew very rapidly and conquered many countries which they made their colonies(Singapore, India, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong[last time], parts of South Africa etc.).
Hate to say this, but personally, I feel that the Chinese government is humbling itself and 30 - 40 years later, when their "muscles and engines are ready", then they'll go out and conquer. This is mankind and human nature.
Look at Hitler. Look at Genghis Khan.
And now.....my analysis of what's gonna happen a few years down the road, assuming the relations between the major countries today holds true.
East-Asia now is TENSE now.......my prediction is that China will get into a war with Japan one day, and the US will step in(the US during that time may already be nothing compared to China, judging by today's standards).
Taiwan will most likely side with the US, as it's their best chance to get independence.
Thus, it's going to be China against at least three countries.
North Korea may take the chance to use their nukes on the US; the best chance to cripple it. North Korea will also invade South Korea, South Korea will attack back, helping the Americans.
The Russians will most likely take sides and help China.
Australia, Spain, Britain(for sure), France(for sure), Germany, Italy and most countries in Western Europe will most likely help the US. Eastern Europe may be un-invovled in the war.
It is quite unclear if Canada and New Zealand will join in, because these two usually have kept lower profiles during world issues. India may not take sides, because it's a good friend of both the US and China.
So, assuming if China and North Korea wins, they most likely will invade Japan first(arch-enemy).
Next will most likely be their chance to nuke the US so that there will be no strong threat. They may or may not invade Europe, depending on their ambitions. If they're wild, yes. And wilder still, they'll advance down from Mongolia, Thailand, Laos, Malaysia and then Singapore. They may leave the the Phillippines and Indonesia alone. They may or may not take Australia.
However, if Russia take sides, China, togethe with North Korea, may use the chance to invade it as well.
Some things about this war, most prossibly WW III, is that :
1) Nukes will be used, at the mid or near-end of the war :
-China to US and other allies
-North Korea to US
-US to China and North Korea
-Allies(those with nukes) to China
2) The heat of the war will most likely be centered on China and Japan
3) Africa and South America(Brazil etc.) will not be involved.
4) WW III will come sooner or later, and the start of the war will be in East Asia and will revolve around Asia.
5) If China and the US really comes to full-scale war, one of them will be destroyed and in that, it will be the end of either the US superpower, or it will be the end of China's dreams. Or it will be the start of world peace once more, or it will be a world dominated by Chinese military might.
Both countries, winner or loser, will suffer the worst damages, atrocities and losses unseen before, even during 9/11.
6) If the war happens 30 - 40 years later, and assuming if it's just the US(allies don't wanna take part) against China, then the US will face the strongest challenge in it's entire history, from the day that land mass was made since prehistoric times.
That's my prediction. It may happen in mid-2006 or anywhere within the next 6 years.
Anyone got any views on this?
See you,
Xeon.

Ah well, the worst thing is that George War Bush will launch a war in Iran sometime, most likely, by end of this year of somewhere early next year. It's either Iran or North Korea. My opinion is : terrorists are the short-term threats. Entire wars between are the long term threats and they're the real threats.
One single nuke that lands in the US will kill more folks than all the people killed in terrorist acts from 1990 to 2005.
Anyway, no empire last forever. Maybe this is the grim downfall of the stars and stripes. The Chinese empire/century will span for the next century at least, followed by the East European century the next.......seems that if you judge by history, every continent/country will have their chance sooner or later to become World No. 1. :)

Nah.....all the Korea and Japan people are actually descendants of the mainland Chinese people.
If I remember right, during the Qin dynasty, there was a tyrant emperor called Qin, and because of his mass slaughter of lots of folks, some folks fled to Japan and Korea, and from there, the roots took place and everything began developing. This is why, athough there's some very slight differences in appearances, Chinese, Koreans and Japanese all look almost the same, and look much more different than Indians or the Malay inhabitants. :)

I've heard of this many times...but I personally stil can't subscribe to this theory because if the japanese and koreans were once mainland chinese, how come the native languages of the japanese and koreans (i mean the language, not their writing systems) are so different from chinese as to even be from a different branch/family?

And now Daddy Xeon will tell you the reason.
It is because of that vile emperor that these folks who flee away from China don't wanna get recognized. They settled down on their respective, uninhabited island and developed their own customs, culture, history, literature, arts and heritage, including languages and speech.
Do u know that Korean characters, when you look at it abstractly, resembles Chinese character?(like, for example......the Korean character for "window" looks the same as the Chinese "window" character, only if you look at it closely and only if someone physically describes the 2 characters to you)
Imagine : all these took place over thousands and thousands of years.
The Chinese in Singapore, my country, also all originated from China. Only difference is that the Chinese in China first migrated here 200++ years ago, and see? There's already a growing difference between us two. Our Chinese characters are of different version, we look slightly different(they've rosier/redder complexion) etc.
The food we like is different etc. If you give us 800 more years, we'll probably evolved to another whole sub-race of our own, like the Japanese
and Koreans. :)
Now come here. U need to be whipped.

Re: What do you think of China
Xeon, I must say you know a lot about China. You even know about Qin Dynasty. It seems you're interested in the history of my country. And I always think that Singaporean also look very like to Chinese. BTW, What's the color of your eye, your hair and you skin, Xeon.
But about WWIII, I think you're spreading a "China Threat" agrument.
Indeed, very country has the ambition to expansion. But I don't think China will start the WWIII. The expense of national defence of China every year is only about 3 billions US$. The Microsoft's researching expense every year may be even more than this. But the USA's military expense is more than 500 billions. And Uncle Sam always invades other countries by all excues. So the threat of the world peace is not China, but USA. This nation have the powerest economy, military, the highest technology, the best scientists, and the most petroleum.
:D

Because I learnt about them in history classes, pal! :D
The Shang, Qin, Han, Tang, Qing......anyway, I only know the names and nothing much, and some bits of facts here and there.
Quote:

Oh my, oh my. Actually, I always like reading about the histories of other countries far away from Singapore. Like China, Japan, Australia, the US, the UK and the Nordic countries etc.
But I hate to memorize the facts and read the books like a textbook. Also.....the books must not be choke-full of words and must include lots of pictures too.
Quote:

My hair is white, my eye is blue, my skin is brown.
No no.....my hair is black, my eyes are black(actually, it's dark hazel, but from most distances, it's looks black) and my skin is light brown. I'm pretty fair compared to most Singaporean-Chinese, and it makes me look malnourished. I wish I was a little darker/tanner.
But for some reason, I can always tell the difference between mainland Chinese and other kinds of Chinese(Singaporean-Chinese, Indonesian-Chinese etc.).
However.......I can't tell the difference from a white Polish, a white American, a white British, a white Australian, a white Canadian, a white Czech, a white German or a white French. However, it seems that whites themselves can actually tell the difference. Dunno why.
But......I do know that if a white has very bright shiny blonde hair, they're most likely from Nordic countries like Finland, Norway, Denmark or Sweden. :D
Quote:

Nah, not now......but about 30 - 40 years down the road. Remember? Last century, it took Japan 25 years to catch up with the West before they declared war on Russia and won. Then, with that success, they went mad.
Quote:
And Uncle Sam always invades other countries by all excues. So the threat of the world peace is not China, but USA.
Oh yes, definetly! I heard that George War Bush is gonna play war games again very soon, either in Iran or North Korea. Seems that this guy is gonna launch a war every term he has in presidential office. And next election, he's gonna win again.
Anyway, who will be the aggressor for WW III is hard to say, but I do have a grim feeling that when China's economy surpasses all, their military will also follow. I mean, like if you want a strong military, the best way is to boost your economy so that you've the funds.
And then the economy and military is up.......dark ambitions will follow.
On the other hand,.........let's enjoy peace and *** with girls now!!!
Good day,

I hate war for it causing countless death. We should treasure life. Beacuse friendship, loveness, and the gladness or proudness after success can only be felt when we are still alive.
