I am from Belarus. Do you know this country?

Belarus is called something like White-Russia in my country. The capital is Minsk and there is this crazy dictator in charge, even worse then Koetsjma in Ukraine. Am I correct?

Anyway, there's something I wanna clarify. It seems that most Westerners, including Britons, Irelanders, French, Americans, Canadians, Brazilians and Germans classify Russia as the East, right?
And there's quite a lot of Russians(no offence! :)) who classify themselves as neither belonging to the East or West.
Why is this?

The majority of Russians are Whites, and Russian, by any and every aspect, is so much more like the West.
But some Russians actually get offended when people say Russia belongs to the West!!!!!

Welcome :) And yes I know Belarus, it's much bigger than Luxembourg ;) I even met some guy from Belarus... 12 years ago ;)

And as far as self-defence is concerned, I have to say I'm impressed with Wing Shun Kung-Fu. My room-mate at University took it up in his first year and they did learn a lot there. He was this small guy (sporty though) and in the space of four weeks he could actually stand up to me when we were fighting over the music that would be played :p

He's a small guy? So here is what you have to do. Gain some weight (50kg should be enough) and just sit on him when he annoys you. After that he should be no more trouble. :D:D

As fpr gurls, I couldn't help but feel that talk about such stuff all the time. Well, probably not women, but teenage gurls do engage in such silly stuff 80% of the time, whereas it's been shown in a research that guys think about sex 85% of the time.(which isn't true for my case......I dunno about u folks) ;)

Is any guy here interested in shopping or buying new clothes? I dunno why, but every time I'm being forced to buy new clothes or go to those silly shopping malls, I feel as though I'm suffering in ****.

And gurls.......speaking of gurls, where's Irona20?

Our country is not big, it's not great, but in last, in middle centuries, it was one of the biggest and famous european countries and the center of culture. It's was known as Great Lithuanian Kingdom ( together with today's Lithuania, but we were the biggest part of it ). The first printing man was belarus Francishak Scarina. And we have much people who are good known abroad... So, our country has only European traditions, not asian. And we part of Europe not only for
territory but for culture and history.

I think that sentence resume well Judo. Since it is technique and not combat-street oriented, a combat opposing Cimperiali and any "bum" in the street will surely end by Cimperiali winning, then probably running away since he is pacific... :D

It seem everyone has done judo here! I've done a little bit and I can assure that strength and weight is not the most important. As a little small ... bug!, I was practicing with a Viking (big, strong, tall.. ;)) and it was of no trouble.

I've also done Ninjutsu, and that is a lot combat oriented, hand-to-hand, knife combat. But again, a lot technical, no need for strength, just move the right way, disarm, push to floor then grab the arm, he can't move anymore, even if he is hercules ... Judo immobilisation works the same.

Anyway..., all martial art are "art" and not "martial combat"

As for Kendo, you are right telling it's cool, I've already see someone coming to his course, walking in the parking with a sword (it was the night, so a wood sword looks like a sword!) I remember crossing my eyes some time just to follow his movements... in case!!!

I have been very busy in last days (I want holidays again!!!)

On the other hand... women are interested in many things, not only in clothes!!!! but in my case, judo (And similars) aren't to my liking. I prefer other sports, like swimming.

Even a literatary guy like me gets darn sleepy when I read this book called "Lincoln at Gettysburg". It's a great showing one of the greatest chilvary acts of one of my idol, Lord Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States of America.
From the summary at the back of the book, it seems that he actually managed to tame the civil war at Gettysburg with a divine speech of just 272 words!!!! Cool!

I'm from Argentina (South America), we are 3 at the office. We all voted, but only 1 vote was counted. This is not working OK.
I believe they are doing IP-filtering, and as we have a proxy, all votes must have been sent with the same IP.
Here in Argentina, almost all companies have a proxy, so if only 1 vote is counted, the results must not be accurate.

We have a proxy at the company, so the 3 votes must have been sent with the same IP. Are you filtering this?
Here in Argentina, almost all companies have a proxy, so if this is the problem, I believe the results will not be accurate.

"Getting Gurls' Attention for Dummies, 14th Edition" by Xeon. It would make sense since when you do not PRETEND to like to go to a mall or shop clothes, so show you are interested and care about the same as the cute '****', you will not attract her attention. That would explain why:

1) The book is not succesful and thus...
2) ...nobody ever heard of it, and because it is so bad,...
3) ...it needs so much improvement that there are already 14 editions.

A search on Google clearly illustrates my point:

1) "attracting girls" simon : 24 hits
2) "attracting girls" xeon : 0 hits

I actually love cooking too, when I have enough time to make something a bit more elaborate ;) Education doesn't do it that much for me, since both my parents are teachers :D Then again, it's really interesting to compare education systems in various countries. I've been in the Luxembourg secondary system and at university in England and France. I have to say though that I liked the english system best, mostly because of the tutor system.

Yes, the person who works with me has just voted OK, and now the vote was counted OK. (I had already voted earlier).
Probably he wasn't logged, but instead of getting an error message he received a "Thanks for voting".

The second is because the expected answer is where the people come from, not where they are, and a lot of people give the place where they are in their profile.
The third is about the writing. There might be several writings for the same country, depending if you use english or the local language.

I think there is another reason..

Some members have one than one account because they forgot the password and so. it would falsify the result.
