We have a very changing weather in Ireland for the moment. One sunny day, one rainy day, one sunny, one rainy day, ... So we can't complain too much. Even the week end had one sunny day.
The only thing that could be depressing is that the length of the day is reducing quite quickly. It's almost night now when I leave work, and it's getting worse.
I think the next time I'll see the sun on a work day will be in about 6 month. It's probably not as bad as what it can be in Sweden or Norway, though.
I am so glad that I live in Austria. I love the snow and I love skiing.Quote:

Yeah, Elrond, that reminds me of the four years I lived in London. When I got back from university in the evening it was already dark :/ But the good thing was that it never rained for long periods of time. After a nasty day could always come a nice sunny one :)

Lots of people don't even know moutain on summer. They just want go there on winter. Skiing in the morning. Eat something at midday in a "chalet-pizzeria", skiing in the afternoon, come back in their small 10m² hotel room..and like that every days till the end of the holidays. wow. For me that's awful.
And when i walk on summer in a forest in moutain, i dislike to cross those awful "ski corridors". But i'm not alone. If you like skiing, that's ok. I hope you do it with respect of the nature.

Monday : druly
Tuesday : rainy
Wednesday : clouded
Thursday : foggy
Friday : overcast
Saturday : stormy
Sunday : haha, there is no sun this day :D
Now seriously, I've heard the yearly rainfall in London is nearly the same (only few mm difference) as in Paris, yet everybody regards Paris as a more sunny city and London as a rainy city.
Well, that's pretty hard for an individual skiier. The thing that creates these ski-corridors is the fact that even though there is not enough snow, the operators open the slope for skiiers. And then if 10000 people go over the same slope in one day and there is only 10cm of snow between the skis and the grass... Well...
I've been o the mountains in the summer too, but honestly, I avoid places where there is a skiing resort.
Well, that has an easy explanation. Since London is on an island, its wheather is changing the whole time. While in Paris is can be raining for a whole day, this will almost never happen in London. But then again there is a fair chance that even on a nice sunny warm summer day it will be raining a little bit in London. But then again, when it's winter in London and you think all the days are grey, you get a really nice sunny day and you're amazed ;) I liked the weather in London much better than the one in Luxembourg for example.Quote:

It's not the duration of the rain as much as its intensity. In Dublin there's very few heavy rain. It usually is light rain for days, with a lot of breaks, but only for short times. In France the rain with be more rare but much heavier.Quote:

At least it's very sunny today :)
I don't know if I can agree with you there... I have a very good and thourough experience of rain in Dublin. I was there for three days and during two of them it rained very heavily. So there ! It rains two-thirds of the time heavily in Dublin !

Qualifying the rain might be one of the very few subjects for which English has more words than French. That's really something you have to deal with around here: if you stop doing thing because of the rain, you just stop doing anything most of the time. People even play golf under the rain here. Why should they cancel just because of a few drops? :D

Yes, people are not bothered about the rain ;) From May onwards, people will be sunbathing in Hyde Park (the big park in London) and if it rains, they put on their jacket for 10 minutes and return to sunbathing after it stops :p
