what kind of religious thread are you talking about? is it inter-religion debate or individual religions discussion, or is it a thread to preach..? :)
I think this would all depend on the context of it. Personally I have no problem with religous topics, but I can see where something would become a problem with people. Religion is a very sensitive topics to alot of people.
Any way just my $0.02
same here ive got no problem discussing with religion, but as was said, its a very sensitive topic, the posters intention might be objective but in the reader's point of view , it might be offensive. But what kind of religion topic do you have in mind anyways??
Maybe we can talk about the search of the Holy Grail, its a nice and never-ending topic. And with the DA Vinci Code movie soon to open it might be interesting :D

IMHO, religion is a very broad subject. So not unless a thread is dedicated solely to one specific religious topic, it can get frustrating for some as can be seen in that thread Hannes showed here. Otherwise, it is okay. :)

I think bringing up this topic, be how specific the topic is, it is bound to go wide.. off-topic..
IMHO, "What Will Happen To People When They Die" is not a good topic cause we can share what each religion states about this, but proving it?

Yeah, good point. I was thinking in a similar line. IMHO, Not unless people agree/believe in one reliable source, the discussion is bound to go to all sorts of direction. And then, people have different views/opinions as to that "reliable source"... [EDIT] I mean, some don't know which source to trust, while others might question its reliability, etc...Quote:
