I have joined a Karate' class, true, I think it s good to learn ? My teacher is also really cool...

Many years ago, I used to watch Hong Kong's serie B karate movies. But karate fighters were always defeated by Kung-Fu fighters.

I suppose that in japanese movies karate fighters always defeat kunk fu fighters.

I never watched, Japanese dont like to watch either. :)
They all boring !! I also watched some HongKong movies, my friend lent me some tapes. They were great. I like them. People can fly around. Fun and interesting ! :)

Actually I dont have anything to do, that s why I join the class. I could protect myself then. My bro said so.

I think not so. That will make the movie so boring.

First, a kung fu fighter must defeat the karate fighters. Then, the karate fighters must practice so well to prolong the movie to 2 hours. Then, finally, that's the time when karate fighters defeat the kung fu fighters.

That will be the same story in reverse, on chinese movies.

Also in the most of hollywood's action movies, replacing the karate and kung fu fighters by soldiers, policemen, cute muscle men, etc. and adding some big explosions, cars flying, a million of bullets shot, and the beautyfull kidnapped girl of turn.

What flavour of karate is it?

I used to practice Karate Kyokushinkai during the last year. But some problems with knees caused me to leave trainings. :(

What about china films... Flying kung-fu fighters hehehe... not so long ago I've seen a movie called "The Hero" with Jet Lee. These china films are specifical to China culture and a lot of moments are based on historical customs. As result some moments may look strange for europeans or americans.

haven't seen it, I'll just get the dvd...but then I'm not much into going to movie theaters...I just get the sudden urge to yell fire...so I try to not put myself in those situations....

If U have a super home TV-theater that may be reasonable, in other case noting can compare with a big movie theater screen and a good dolby sound around.

we have an IMAX down my way...wOOt...try that one on for size...

sides I have a short list of movies I'd want to see in a movie theater...

any of the rings movies
pink floyd the wall
led zepp's song remains the same
that samurai flick heaven and earth (think that's the title)
brazil
etc etc...

in short it would have to be visually stunning to get my cranky arse into the movie theater...ok so zepp's isn't visual stunning except for ole jimmy going to town on his les paul...

any tv over 40 inches is kinda overkill I think, but you know some of those flat panel large screen tv's are kewl. My buddy has a bar in his basement, with surround sound, and a nice sized tv, he's thinking about getting one of those 50 inchers....I mean it would be nice, fun to watch football on, but I'm just not all into that...all I want is my virtual reality, somebody please make a breakthrough, I don't want to watch a movie...I want to live it ;)

Wow... that's really great... indeed I cannot afford something like that for the moment.. well even something not so a kewl like that...
but there can be some disadvantage if U have the one like U described... it can captured all of your free time and U'll become a real tv-holic :)

Are the movie theatres expensive in your country?

In my country the price is very high if you compare it with the cost of renting the movie. More if you also add the pop corn, coke, and all the paraphernalia...

Well, a ticket costs something about $1.4 (this is for the best movie theaters)... the bottle of bear about $0.5-1...
Take in mind that the avarage salary here is about may be $120.. Fortunatelly, I get more :)

my bro and sister in law saw return of the king last weekend, it was daytime showing, think she said it was 7 bucks (US) a pop...the popcorn and soda costs more than that ;)

There are many months I don't go but here the worst of the theatres costs about 6 euros. And my city is not one of the most expensive of my country.

is anybody else wierded out about pirates getting all this acclaim? I mean I like johnny depp, and a good pirate movie, but it pretty much didn't keep my attention....

In terms of IMAX theaters, my city was one of the first in the country to have one (on of the first 5 or so) - in the good ol' Franklin Institute. And Mick, this one's for you:
