This week's question: What screen resolution do you use?
1600 x 1200 on my desktop
1024 x 600 (yes, that's an unusual resolution) on my mini-notebook
240 x 320 on my Pocket PC... ;)
Currently...still small 1600x1200 pixels both on my laptop and desktop. My Powerbook comes with 1440x900, however there wasn't any option for that, thus, it does not count... :cool:
- 1280x1024 at the office - 19" TFT monitor (I think it's enough for programming/browsing codeguru).
- 1024x768 home - 17" "classic" trinitron (quite enough for PC games ;))
1600x1200 both at work and at home.
1024x768 19'' monitor at office.
1280x800 at home because is the clearest for my notebook TFT screen.

I normally use 1024x768 both at home & office on my 17" screen. Sometimes I do use 1152x864 or 1280x1024 especially when playing games at home.
One Notebook with an additional 17'' flat panel, 2* 1280x1024, big fonts everywhere, as the eyes become old already. ;-)

1152 x 864 . I see no one else uses it here. Is it bad for the eyes? :ehh:

Switched to 1152x864 from today. Makes the screen look bigger :D
Nowadays with TFT panels, 1152 x 864 hardly ever corresponds to the native resolution of the panel - that's why you don't see it much.Quote:

Yes 1024x768 is the most popular.
Unfortunately a lot of developers and companies don't test their programs at a higher resolution, and with different font sizes. In order to read my fonts at 1280x1024 from a "lets lounge back in a big leather chair position" I have to set all my fonts to 141% normal size.
Even Visual Studio doesn't appear to work properly at this resolution and font size, and many less well tested programs are impossible to use (e.g., dialogs are not resizeable, so you have to guess what the bottom buttons are)

1024x768 and 1152x864(preferred) at home - 17" CRT
One desktop across two monitors... 3200x1200. Wish I could go higher.
1280 x 1024, dual 19" tft
Well, I use the same, on 17" moniter. On 14/15" where for most of the moniters highest resultion is 1024x768, I do install other driver for moniter and switch to this resolution. :DQuote:

I always use the maximum resolution possible, which is 1280x1024 for this monitor. I hate scrolling left-right or up-down too often.

I prefer high resolution with good refresh rate. I mean maximum resolution and refresh rate may be minimum 85 Hrz
I like to use 1024 * 768 on 17 inch monitors and 1280 * 1024 on 19 inch monitors.
1280 * 1024 is ideal for programming and specially when its debugging time!
I use 1024 * 768, interesting so that the most in the poll uses it too...
In the office it's not the case...
I have a 21" monitor (1752 x 1344) and a second 19" monitor (1280 x 1024). They cost me a fortune but are well worth it. I'd really like a couple of TFT's but 1600 x 1200 seems to be the highest setting available. I'd work at 1800 x 1440 if I could.
It's really useful having a second monitor. You can see what's happening in your app whilst you debug it, without needing to ALT+TAB all the time. I'd recommend a second monitor to anyone.
I second that, because when alt+tabing between debugger and app, it often is the case that your app won't redraw itself and you only see a white rectangle...Quote:
