After reading a lot of posts in many of the Forums, i was hit by a thiought... What is the first thing A CG user does when logging on... Please answer to poll as truthfully as posible.. i made it private to keep it from adversly affecting your usage.. Disscution is more than welcome and encoraged.. But please answer the poll before you post...

I usually start with my private messages. If there are none, I go over to the forums I moderate and read the threads there. If I am finished with these I check the *other* forums, then Chit/Chat and then the rest (like VB, Java), if I have enough time for it.
I usually go to WinAPI forum first off, just to see if theres anything I'm trying to learn, or to see if theres a post I can actually help in :D
Then I'll get around to the other forums.
My User CP is my home page... :D
So, I automatically follow up on my subscribed threads... :)

All threads one replies to are threads one automatically gets subscribed to... ;) Or do you unsubscribe yourself... ? :eek:

it depends...sometime I check PM first...sometimes I check WinAPI Forum first...sometimes I went to Chit-Chat Forum fisrt...it depends on what I want to check first...but I'd never see the subscribed thread as I didn't subscribe to any...

depends on the need actually, if i saw a pm when i login then that would be the priority. if none then and am looking for something, i do a search or if am posting a question then i would go there directly, then if nothing, go to chit chat and just be annoying :D

ELSE go ahead and read new posts.. and reply to the threads whereever needed.
Click refresh to see the latest and then go to Database forum.. then to occasionally - C# and VB... sometimes ASP.net, Managed C++, Feedback forum...
Check if have time..to Chit Chat... reply when in good mood..else go back tp forum already visited..
New - read... nothing new.. back to work...or the Kitchen :D
Come back and do everything from start..as stated above.. except for typing the URL again...
These days...started visiting PHP forum as well...picking up PERL these days...
Aaah missed this one...user cp - check reputation comments...view the posts on which got those... laugh ..smile .. or cry.. or feel wierd..amazed.. (all kinds of emotions upon them :D )
My home page is the chit-chat forums ;).
After I login to CG I am going to my CP and check my subscribed threasds. I am hardly ever getting PMs, so I do not have to answer them :D. I am subscribed to Assembly forum, so I go there when I see that someone posted there. After that I am clicking 'New posts' and reply to anywere I can help.

I go to my User CP first and check my subscribed threads. Then I go to VC++, VB and Assembly forums. If I don't have any post to answer or if I don't have any answer to post :D, I go to the chit-chat forums.

I start looking at codeguru.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=9 (typing the address in the address's bar, and using autocompletion).
If I have PMs, there is a popup saying that there are, and I answer to them.
If I have no PMs, I look at the new posts in the order of the last thread to the oldest thread.
If there are plenty of them, I start looking at the thread in which I posted, or that I already read and which retained my attention.
I go to my bookmark folder for CG which opens these tabs for me: Non Visual C++, General Dev, Algorithms, Gen Disc, Feedback, moderator forum and the reviewer forum. If I have any PMs, I read them first and then the tabs one by one. If one of the threads I recently participated in in the Non-VC forum fell off the first page, I'll check it too to see how it has evolved.

My day starts with VB 6.0 then VB.NET, C#, Private Forum, Chit-Chat, and then where ever I find something interesting i'll read it.
I sometimes like posting in Database, .NET Framework and many other forums if i think i know the solution.
I take bookmarks->CG->CP read PMs, if it is from someone important (like Brad! or mods! [I get them every now and then since I'm little troublesome for them :D ;) ] ) and next I scroll the list of subcribed threads and read ones that are technical and reply to them. Then the chit-chat ones. Some like the never endind thread I take a chance (again!). Then other forums like feed back. However reply to the PMs will be lowest priority if the request is not something urgent. At last the NW forum and if there is lots of time (like now) the GD forum. If I remember I check to see if there is some stray rep for me :p Occationaly, CG home page, new articles etc.

I always go to the subscribed threads. I enter everytime someone posts something because I get e-mails about it :)
But when I just enter 'cause I have one free moment I go to VB 6.0, C# then Chit/Chat :)
I first check New posts and then see whether I can help anyone.
