Your worst nightmares?
I will start with mine... :)
In my dream, I am sitting in a very dark room (well not exactly black but greyish)... which is very big.. it is also sloping.. I see very huge, spherical, very dark objects/balls(now these are black) rolling down that slope.. and I am sitting or lying on their way... They seem to get bigger and bigger and then one suddenly rolls over me.. The dark objects are so black that you can easily spot their outline in the already darkish room...
I always get awake frightened due to this... though it happens rarely.. I mean may be just 5-10 times that I remember.. :ehh:
What's yours..?

Re: Your worst nightmares?
That sounds spooky Abhishek!
To be honet, I can't remember when last I could remember a dream. It's like finally when I get to bed, I pray, and the next morning I wonder if I even finished that prayer, or just fell asleep half way through..
-
Re: Your worst nightmares?
What's interesting about your dream Abhishek is that it's recurring...
Are you saying you had the exact same dream for about 5-10 times? Wow...
My worst nightmare would have to be dreaming my mom was washed away by a huge flood that came out of nowhere, and feeling helpless, powerless to save her from it. I dreamt of that when I was about 9 or so. But I still remember that.
-
Re: Your worst nightmares?
I have a recurring dream-moment-thingy of waking up groggily eyed in the middle of this street near my house really ****ed up off something and seeing headlights coming at me. That happens pretty frequently, it used to be a lot more when my alarm clock was going off and I'd still be dreaming, but it still happens.
I never remember anything but nightmares, I can never get a grip on dreams that don't scare me. Recently I had a nightmare which had the same character as one I had when I was like 7. Then, I was sliding down a huge fast purple sludge slide through a mad scientists lair, and a big black octopus spiky tentacly thingy is coming at me and I tried to scream but couldn't (can never hear myself in my dreams), and a few weeks ago, it was more like I was at my friends house which morphed into a mad scientists lair and I walked upstairs to something and it morphed into another one of my friend's attics and then the octopus thing was there.

Re: Your worst nightmares?
Yeah.. its spooky.. and yup its the same dream... not 10 though.. i would say 5 or something near to 5 times...
What do recurring dreams mean?
Calci - yeah.. you can't do many things in dreams .. hear your own voices, can't run.. even if you run and try to run very very fast.. you will find yourself crawling.. I can never run faster than about 5 kmph. Now, don't ask me if I have a speedometer to measure that.. I don't.. just a guess! :D
-
Re: Your worst nightmares?
Cant call it the worst nightmare.. but I often see myself missing my bus/train. I always try to catch it by running behind but cant generate enough speed. (like Exterminator.. not more than 5 mph)
-
Re: Your worst nightmares?
In one of my worst nightmares (excluding those coded by me... :D), there is a small child that's started playing on the ground immediately behind a car (which I am driving?) just out of view for the driver who starts in a reverse gear.
I usually come out of this nightmare in cold sweat just before the inevitable happens.

Is this a nightmare? If so, I was living it. :D
That was pretty much my daily life when in University - being late and chasing running buses and trains.
(In Germany, unfortunately - this would make for a pointless activity as buses and trains have doors that close :thumbd:. Pretty inflexible :D. Also, buses can be caught only at bus-stops and not when idling at a red traffic signal... Again - :thumbd: :thumbd: :thumbd: )
:D

Re: Your worst nightmares?
My worst nightmare was a game I play in my dream(like UT) and all of sudden everything starts becoming real all around, killing and blood and ***t....I throw away guns and start running, suddenly there is a deep valley and I fell..and keep felling on..never reached bottom...I freak out and woke up.
I thought this happened because I was playing a lot of games(esp. max payne) in that period. :D

Why :thumbd:?? Don't tell me you want to be chasing buses here in Germany where usaully vehicle speeds are over 80 Kmhpr. Also for your information...buses with doors are coming our country too...Bangalore Metro Transport is an example.

Not inside cities, Ashwin.
Buses in Bombay are faster within city limits... In fact, I have even seen them race against each other. :D :thumb:

What?
Bangalore is also going backwards...
The reasons why I stopped using public transport in Germany (namely: low thrill, poor in excitement, safe, secure, drab and boring activity) is going to be one stopping me in my home country too - is this what you are trying to tell? :D
-
Re: Your worst nightmares?
Hey Guys!! This is nightmare/dream thread.. not for discussing public transport in various places ;)
BTW, public transport is a nightmare in India.. but a real one.. :(

Don't tag Bombay as India.. :D .. In Bombay it might be.. but not everywhere.. Delhi is much better.. with the metro reaching everywhere, it would just become fantastic.. :thumb:

Actually, yes - Delhi is a lot more excitement than Bombay. Highest concentration of corrupt politicians, unsafe streets at late nights (especially for women), worst adherence to traffic rules in India... Yes, Delhi Rulez. :thumb: :D ;)

What is Bombay in comparison?
India's highest tax paying city?
Just a financial cashcow being milked to install metros in Delhi?
Greatest concentration of hard-working people?
Generates 35% of India's Gross National Product - now, what's that good for - it doesn't even have a metro! :D
(Okay, lets choose to forget the trains that run up and down the city every minute and carry more than 6 million passengers everyday - one half of all of what Indian Railways does!)
// Seriously though, I got a feeling that someone who hasn't visited Bombay made that statement... :D
-
Re: Your worst nightmares?
Here I am ! ! ! !
I have been away a long time, but now I back :D !!
I'll tell a thing about recurring dreams, well it's true for at least my strange mind. When I wake up saying "I had this dream already once" it is just because during the dream "something" told me that it is a recurring one.... but reflecting when awake I realize I never had that dream before.
For my worst nightmare.......
I was a little child sitting on my bed waiting to fall asleep, watching to the weak light of the abatjour I used against my fear of the dark.... suddenly an humanoid creature of glowing orange light appeared standing still on my room's door, watching me with its evil eyes... even the creature didn't have eyes, mouth, nor face....
It watched me for some instants.... then disappeared.
-
Re: Your worst nightmares?
Yeah, yeah, right Sid!.. I have never visited Bombay.. and about corrupt politicians.. that's everywhere :D
It is good that you are loyal to your place and you cannot listen a word about it.. I am not actually from delhi, though I am working here but I am not biased about it ;) :D
I admit though that it is a nice place to enjoy life.. esp night life.. :)

What?
You dont want to visit the city that gives the most to India?
Strange.
I don't think you will be successful in executing this constraint. :D

Really? Perhaps, you missed the sarcasm in my second post. :D
As for Bombay v/s Delhi - what I said had nothing to do with me being from Bombay - I quoted facts about the city, actually.
No emotional stuff in there.
:D ;)
// In otherwords - me giving the devil (Bombay) it's due... ;)
// And yes - dare not say anything against Bombay... :D

Re: Your worst nightmares?
The most scary nightmare I ever had in my life was about at around 13 years old....
I was in a maze made of gray concrete walls running away from Fear following me..... when I reached a red metal door at the end of a tunnell. I started to knock, kick, scratch it but it didn't open..... in the highest moment of fear I waked up....

One good thing about recurring dreams is that you know what's going to happen next in the dream. :D

When I was younger, I couldn't do anything but as I am older, I am able to avert as I know I have to because the next thing going to happen, is very unpleasant. Maybe you would like to read this wiki page.
Lucid dreaming

Does anyone has dreams about the future? And it happens exactly as in the dreams?

I think that is quite common too, as I have discussed this topic in a local forum before, and quite a number of my country men/women have this experience as well. :)

Dreams are just thoughts or supressed feelings of your subconscious mind, so only if human's subconscious mind can see the probabilities of future then dreams can be related, but I dont think normal humans have such capabilities.

When I was young I dreamt to be at the public park walking nearby the first bench, then the children on that bench started to launch pebbles against me....
The day after, in the real world, I was " exactly " in the same spot of the park with the " same " children in the dream an the " same " bench taunting me....
-
Re: Your worst nightmares?
I have to explain in my case that I don't remember those dreams until those events happen. Then I'll think "hey, this is exactly what I dreamt of 6 months ago."
Sometimes, I think if this means that there is a higher order being who controls the events.

If you are running and found yourself in slow motion in your dream, that means something/someone/many people are constricting and stifling you in real life.
This is my explanation. I came to this conclusion because whenever I had many unhappy events in that period of life, I found myself crawling when i was supposed to be running in my dreams.

Re: Your worst nightmares?
In my worst nightmare, which fortunately it's happen not very often, I receive a letter from my Government that says I have to serve in army for one year. In my country before 2005 all 18 year-old boys had to spend one year of their life in army (now this is a work, a profession that people can choose), and so I did: but rarely this was a good experience (usually it was a boring year), and so it was for me.
When I dream this subject, waking up is the best monent of day :)

My sister's boyfriend was supposed to do something like that. He was born in Greece and lived there until he was 3, now he lives in the USA, but when he tried to get a passport from them(recently since his parents are moving back to Greece and hes staying) they refused to give him one because he didn't do the Army thing.
-
Re: Your worst nightmares?
Yeah, the army thing(conscription) is the worst thing a man can ever go through. Me and CBasicNet has been through it and not only does it drive you insane, it also wastes all your time and baby-producing abilities.
Anyway, my only greatest fear of all is Time. I always feel pretty scared and freaked out when I think back how fast time flies and I'm already 22 and onto 23 next year, and when I reach 80 years old, I still haven't done much.
Maybe it's time I start going around and start doing girls. Then, when I reach 80 years old and on my deathed and the angels descend down to take me away, they'll ask : "What have you done in your life to show the Lord?"
And I'll answer : I've done girls, plenty of them. I shall now face the Father.
(please angels, can I not go up there. Earth is a really great place)
See you,
Xeon.
*PS:* Brad, do not delete this post or you'll incur eternal wrath from Xeon here. I'm not threatening you, but just reminding you gently that a few good hearted jokes once in a while does not hurt. Please don't keep thinking about "corporate image" and all those crap every second of the day.

Re: Your worst nightmares?
My worst nightmare is: I wake up (in the dream) but everyone is gone, I am alone in the house, the village, the city, school or some other place I am currently in, in the dream. It is not really a nightmare, but a somewhat unpleasant dream. I am not at panic at this scene, I am not running around like usual in a nightmare. But it is still an uncomfortable dream. But what makes this dream such a nightmare is: The scene it self lasts long, it feels like half an hour.

Re: Your worst nightmares?
One more:
Humans have finally succeeded in making a ladder to the moon. The water level (MSL) is increasing due to melting of the arctic and antartic glaciers caused by global warming. And people are overrunning each other to grab the ladder and escape to moon.. It is horrific.. with people above each other.. You can't see the ladder but you can 10 people at one step.
I sit on top of a big banyaan tree still holding strong to the ground and watching the chaos. Helpless. Thinking, why didn't we do anything about the global warming (or why weren't more ladders made).

Re: Your worst nightmares?
One night I dreamt of some soldiers of an unknown army spreading chaos around my little town, when suddenly one soldier shotted me. I woke up before falling to the ground.
I remember I had this dream in the days of the Gulf War....
