Save the Cheerleader, Save the World
Who is watching "Heros"?
I'm just getting a few friends to watch it, so there aren't many people to discuss what is happening on the show. Very cool new series that I hope plays out a while. The Lost meets X-Men description does a great job of describing it.
My biggest question is.... Is Silar (sp) the cheerleader's dad, or is that just what the writers want us to believe right now?
I just read an article in TV Guide about the show. Really irritated me that it told me something I didn't know. It stated it 'matter of fact" like. I don't think it is a known fact in the show yet. I will say that I know more about Peter's ability to fly than I wanted to.
Let me end this thread lead off with.... Next week's preview looks so cool.
Anyone watching?
Brad!

Must have been up against something else that I watched. Didn't seem to appeal to me, but I will check it out.

It is serialized show, so you need to try to watch it from the beginning....

Re: Save the Cheerleader, Save the World
I'll have to look to see which network it is. It is one of the "major" US networks. They show the current week's episode online, so everyone should be able to get to them that have a broadband account.

Brad!
I am looking forward to see this show, once I saw a trailer and I liked it, BTW I saw a short chinese girl in that, she is not shown in the list of actors on Imdb, isnt she in the show ?
Where are these episodes available ?

http://www.nbc.com/Heroes/
NBC. This Sunday they are showing the first three episodes back-to-back to get people caught up. That will be a very cool way to watch it.

I read what they showed in last week's episode. Before that episode, they had not made it clear what it was. Flying was what we were lead to believe.

Re: Save the Cheerleader, Save the World
Ok.
<MIGHT BE A SPOILER>
I think Peter has power like Rogue.
Becuase Peter has flown, but only when he was with brother.
And he did that thing he did last episode, when he was with Issac.
huh

You got that right !
It would be exciting to see what powers the bad guys posses.

Rogue saps power. Peter has the ability to mimic other people's powers. That is what you saw with the painting and that is what you saw with the flying. I believe that is also why Future Hiro contacted him -- because by being near him, he can take on the ability to manipulate space/time and thus be able to interact with Hiro outside of normal time ;) (I liked the scar comment when they talked :) )
One of my questions is in regard to Hiro's friend - does he have any powers? He seems to find people quite easily.... ?
-
Re: Save the Cheerleader, Save the World
That makes a lot of sense why he contacted Peter and nobody else.
Krishnaa:
I'm more curious to see who the bad guys are and why they capture our 'Heroes'. I bet Sylar is trying to steal everybodies powers. So far we only know of the two.
The Story with Cheerleader is going to be great though. Her foster-father, if he isn't the really her father, is the bad guy.
-
Re: Save the Cheerleader, Save the World
I'll have to admit that I didn't think much of it the first show, so I prolly switched it off. After watching the webcasts, I watched a few shows.
I like it. Thanks, Brad, for recommending it.

I'm pretty sure he isn't her father.
I'm not willing to say he is the bad guy yet.... they are trying to get us to believe he is, so I have to question that he is.... :D

Re: Save the Cheerleader, Save the World
I think that Claire's father is not a bad guy. He did not do any harm to anyone yet, and he has had lotta chances, and every time he let hero go. He did not even harm the ****er who was trying to rape his step-daughter (even if he does not want good for her, I think that he would take a chance and do something bad to someone who deserves bad). I think that the only person, who Claire's father and/or his companions killed, is professor. Professor was co-operating in some way with Sylar, and Sylar for sure is a bada**. I cannot guess yet why Sylar kills, but I bet that it is not to gain all forces. Rather to get free of his one, and live like normal man. And Peter is probably someone like Captain Planet, I wouldnt like to know what will happen whe he will come close to 5 heros.
Or maybe Sylar wants to make Earth clean of all these freaks, thats why he searches for them, destroys their brains, and, in the grande finale, he takes them all to N.Y. and fries with nuclear blast. Really, interesting.
-
Moreover, I think that Hiro's friend is not a hero (or will not team up with them), but Simone may be.

He might have bigger plans like magneto had... ;)
BTW Heroes have too much in common with X-men, at least to start with.

Re: Save the Cheerleader, Save the World
very nice series.. prof. suresh son is cute :D

i wonder what micah's power will be, beside being a the kid genius..

Heroic attempt, indeed :D Thats why Hiro said: 'You do not need superpowers to be a superhero'.

Isn't that enough? He's like 9, imagine what will be his IQ when he turns 16. Or maybe he will become more stupid, because he will become interested with girls?
Anyway, I think that for now I like Hiro most, and I do not like lizard-man (Mohinder, you know), because he is a bit boring as for now.
-
Re: Save the Cheerleader, Save the World
well it is enough as a boy genius, what i mean is that, he has a mother with an alternate personality and a father who walks walls, just like kitty in X-men. He has the 2 genes of his parents, he might have both abilities :D
yup.. yup.. mohinder is a bit boring.. just setting in his little branch in his warm aquarium, doing nothing.. :D

I think Hiro's power little too much for a human superhero, having a control over time he can do exactly anything, this should have been the bad guys power.

Remeber that we still do not know what is the balance for superabilities of superheroes (Except maybe Nikki's, which I doubt that she enjoys using). Maybe every travel in time causes Hiro suffer from heavy hangover next day, or gets his a** into troulble with muggers ;) That would balance his power a bit and would make him think twice before he uses it.

So he probably will be able to walk through people and tear walls apart, being incredibly smart at the same moment :D

Yeah, he better have something of that sort.

They've kind of been indicating limits to his power. When future Hiro talked to Peter he commented that he had to be careful about messing up the space time continum. Plus, if you simply hit him, he is out cold and can't use his powers ;) :D

Re: Save the Cheerleader, Save the World
Something just crossed my mind : What do you think 'Save the Cheerleader, Save the world' is about?
All we know about the cheerleader is that she can regenerate. Why is she so important?
Personally I think that Sylar is trying to find out scientifically how each of their powers work. To steal them. I'm pretty sure that they just need to keep the cheerleader away from Sylar.
-
Re: Save the Cheerleader, Save the World
is'nt sylar and claire's dad one and the same? or maybe sylar was claire's dad assistant ?
i wonder how they would kill the cheerleader, remember the scene in the morgue where she was already on the autopsy table, she still lived after the stick in heard was removed.
i think nikki and the policeman were already recruited by sylar, withouth them knowing of course, remember the sort of S symbol on nikki's back?
so ok am just going to wait for the next eps... to much assumption already :D

Nah, I think not. He's very kind and gentle, and maybe he is not telling us the whole truth, but I believe that he is on the bright side.

Remember the painting with a scene of nuclear blast? I think that this should put her out of the game.

Hey, thats possible! But I do not think that 'S' symbol means 'Sylar', I spotted this symbol also in some more places. One of them is when lizard-man is viewing professor's laptop, symbol appears in horizontal position as a bit darker pattern in all these matrix-style numbers scrolling through the screen.

Re: Save the Cheerleader, Save the World
How about last nights episode?
I thought it was kind of boring.
I wonder if Peter will fly by himself.
Maybe his brother has the same power as Peter...
And Micah's power was shown.

yes, and styler is diff. from cheerleader's dad, and looks like he is not the bad guy.
BTW do you think micah controls electric currents or just tele signals ?

Guy who burnt doctor to ashes and made his girlfried die of radiopathie (word?) was not Sylar, the FBI girl just thought that he is him.

It has nothing to do with signals I think, it is just 'magical' ability of making broken things work, he would even be able to make clockwork ticking with some gears missing.

From IMDb for Sean Bean (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000293/):
"Heroes" .... Paul Sylar (2 episodes, 2006)
- Six Months Ago (2006) TV Episode .... Paul Sylar
- Nothing to Lose (2006) TV Episode .... Paul Sylar
Looks like we will see Sylar in episodes 10 and 12.....

Re: Save the Cheerleader, Save the World
Hmmm
This will be interesting then to see who Claires dad really is
I still think he is a bad guy
