Re: What Movie are you watching Now ??...
HA! I saw "28 Days" written there, and was thinking "Sandra Bullock isn't in that movie!" I was thinking of "28 Days Later" (horror flick, that was so-so).

Re: What Movie are you watching Now ??...
Oh, and I've got "Final Destination" in the Netflix queue. I was watching the watered down version of "Final Destination 2" on SciFi the other night, and thought it might be a good series to rent... ;)

Re: What Movie are you watching Now ??...
Typically have the three tuners in my processor cluster grabbing something off cable. Watching Law & Order on one of them......
[Yes, I know that is not a movie :p ]
-
Re: What Movie are you watching Now ??...
Law & Order is a very good series! :thumb:
The last movie I watched was on Sunday - The Longest Yard, with Adam Sandler and Burt Reynolds
-
Re: What Movie are you watching Now ??...
Recently I saw "Cars" and I liked it very much.
-
Re: What Movie are you watching Now ??...
Casino Royale (last Sunday) - few sequences were good but overall the movie was lacking a good story.
Sea of Love (Al) and Midnight Express - both last weekend :thumb:
But I was surprised that they never showed the midnight express in the escape. :D

Re: What Movie are you watching Now ??...
"My favorite martian" - Reruns...... Urgh....

I like "28 days later"
NOTE: It is NOT the sequel
Most anticipated film: Shrek the third, Spiderman 3 (How would Topher Grace portrait Venom?)

Did you guys know that they initialy offered the Role of Bond's girlfriend (not sure about her name in the movie) to Charlize Theron, and she turned it down.
Watched The Last Samurai again on one of the movie channels.
Still a good movie :thumb:

Re: What Movie are you watching Now ??...
Intelligent of her... :D
This time, none of the Bond-girls survived the movie...

I can say it's another action movie, but definitly not a bond type. Dan looks like bad man to me. :(
-
Re: What Movie are you watching Now ??...
Yeah - precisely - it was just another action movie...
-
Re: What Movie are you watching Now ??...
Basically casino royale did not have a "bond mission". But I would not agree that it was not good enough for a bond movie.. I liked Daniel Kraig! Of course, you don't expect him to be like say Pierce Brosnan moving around as a bond but I think he was better in that he did not use much gadgets.. He did not roll a car on a mouse pad. I think it will take some time before people start accepting him as a bond. Seems few like change.
The action sequences were good. The whole plot was rather pathetic lacking much sense and maturity. The whole playing cards thing doesn't suit a bond!
I liked Daniel from "Munich". It was a good movie and everyone played their role quite well. The girl in Casino Royale is from the movie "Kingdom of Heaven", I guess.
As for me, I expect a little bit brainy stuff in bond movies... And I did not agree to the logic of "M" why Bond was traded for his life by the girl and why the bad guys would let him survive just because the girl made a deal for all the money. It is just an unacceptable theory in my opinion. Bad guys are not that good! :D
Overall rating : 3/5 [the initial sequence was fantastic with the guys flying around :thumb:]

Re: What Movie are you watching Now ??...
BTW has anyone seen "Night at the Museum"?
I am interested in the movie... As it seems to be worth watching in a theatre (right?).
-
Re: What Movie are you watching Now ??...
Oh.. I am a Ben Stiller fan.. but haven't seen the movie yet... but it's like I like all of his movies.. so my review would be a bit biased... may be you take the lead for us by watching it first and then giving a review.. :) ;)
-
Re: What Movie are you watching Now ??...
Okay... I'll do that. :)
This evening I go to watch "Mein Führer" - a controversial comedy (?) that seems to throw light on the life of Adolf Hitler...
-
Re: What Movie are you watching Now ??...
Last couple of days watched 2 funny/interesting movies..
My cousin Vinny
Airplane!

They've been spotting it on TV a lot lately... hmm wonder how long it'll take to come out on DVD...
The theaters are just too expencive, so we skip it and wait for the DVD's...

Re: What Movie are you watching Now ??...
I may end up watching the Night at The Museum in a week or so...
I saw "Mein Fuehrer" last week - quite a comedy and made us laugh often. However, IMO the movie would have been better if it stuck to being a pure political comedy on the life of Hitler. The over-trivialization of some personal details (like Hitler wetting his pajamas) was quite unnecessary, and one ends up finding the movie an incomplete experience.

That is more than 20 USD for a couple's visit to the theatre. Pretty expensive even by American / European standards.
Thanks for that detail break-up. :) :D
BTW, do you have theatres playing Indian Films in SA?
I understand that Hindi movies are pretty popular in some African nations...

LOL! I remember eating chocolates under the pretext of intense thirst... So, I understand the point you make there very well. :D

Re: What Movie are you watching Now ??...
Yes we do .. there are two cinema's in joburg that show Indian and African movies.. (No listings in local papers).Every so often one of the channels show a whole range of bollywood movies...
And one of the latest bollywood movies "Cash" was shot in SA in October, with Zayed Khan, Ajay Devgan, Shamita Shetty, Ritesh Deshmukh and Esha Deol... SA has a big Bollywood following...
-
Re: What Movie are you watching Now ??...
SABC 3 plays Indian films on sundays, I think mostly. It has English Subtitles, and some of them are actually quite funny :)
Wanted to watch King Kong on Sunday, but lightning struck the power out.
Last movie I watched in a theater was Alexander, but it cost me an arm and a leg..

Oh, wow -- I am anyways impressed to know that Bollywood movies are so popular out there... But, did you actually jot that list of names down from the top of your head? :)
I personally don't know too much about the people in that cast save for Ajay Devgan (for I think all boring roles do great justice to him :D... okay, I dont want to offend any AD fans in here) and Esha Deol who with my sister learnt classical dance from the same "Guru".

Kiran, you probably live in a part of the US that isn't known for a low cost of living. :D

In Germany, tickets on what is called a Kinotag i.e. "Cinema Day" cost 4.50 € each (5.5 USD) for an evening or a late night show. On other days, they cost 6.50 € and probably 8.50 € is the costliest it gets for the best seats in one of the swankier cinema chains on a weekend for the most desired show.
In spite of this, people find it expensive and the theatres are often empty. :D

True.. but, I don't think it is any different elsewhere, even if it did, it wouldn't be a big difference.

Same here too. Except for say, movies like Star Wars, Harry Potters/ Lord of the rings.. Cinema halls are finding it difficult to attract people. We have deals here too , say on tuesdays, some theaters have a 4USD a ticket. Some others offer tickets worth 4USD on Sunday mornings. Some others offer coupons in newspapers ( not valid for the just released movies ).

Hmmm no.. I cheated a little... I pulled an article and jotted down the names from there...
At least give me credit for remembering where the article was, (Or rather my wife who pulled it for me)
