Wanted: Most stupid (=best) subject
Hi,
I'm searching for the best subject title, especially while posting questions.
My favourites are:
#10: "Please solve it"
#9: "Programming question" (of course in a programming board...)
#8: "Debug Assertion failed"
#7: "Noobie. Pls.hlp......."
#6: "Need help"
#5: "Question"
#4: "<xxx>" where <xxx> is exactly the name of the board the post is in
#3: "Help"
#2: "Help!"
#1 (Winner): "Help! Urgent!"
Do you have other favourites?
Suggestions?
If this thread will have collected some nice subjects I suggest the moderators to:
- Add a search function where I can search for posts ordered by subject quality. This will be nice ... I'll enjoy to use this function!
With regards

"What Programming Language Should I Learn?"...;)
Re: Wanted: Most stupid (=best) subject
"Please Help! I dont know where to start."
Re: Wanted: Most stupid (=best) subject
"Help me fix my code. (very simple)"
For two reasons -
1 - It is a programming forum, fixing code is what happens here.
2 - If it is so simple why don't you fix it yourself?
Re: Wanted: Most stupid (=best) subject
A real good one is How to make a compiler error?:
There are so many threads about here... (please search!)
See here
Remarks section:
The question itself is not so stupid. The OP really wants the compiler to fail if the developer makes something wrong. But anyway I think it sounds funny, doesn't it?

"Urgent, noob needs to code the ultimate flashy 3D game on a cell phone to impress his girlfriend"
Re: Wanted: Most stupid (=best) subject
"How to write a function which returns true if a file is binary?"
Re: Wanted: Most stupid (=best) subject
Here the subject has been "How To Create A User". Is there anybody out there reading that the same way I did? Explaining my minds is far beyond the topic of this forum and should be "child protected". :):):)
Re: Wanted: Most stupid (=best) subject
Without any doubt, the worst subject line I have ever seen on Code Guru is.....
"Wanted: Most stupid (=best) subject"
:p:D:p
Re: Wanted: Most stupid (=best) subject
Yesterday I called this smart, today I called it stupid, one hour ago I called it nice, 5 hours later it is called BAD, ten hours later it is labeled SUPERSTAR, tomorrow I will call it ....hmm

My two nominees are:
1. C++ FAQs
2. Before You Post
Re: Wanted: Most stupid (=best) subject
A subject I saw today:
Quote:
What can I do with this?
How many people find it difficult to see a title like that without giving a weisenheimer answer?
Re: Wanted: Most stupid (=best) subject
what is the best language?
Re: Wanted: Most stupid (=best) subject
One FAQ: "Is C++ a dead language?"
Re: Wanted: Most stupid (=best) subject
"Mark wants to be a Ninja" is the best subject but not stupid. Mark is so beautiful.
:)
Re: Wanted: Most stupid (=best) subject
"Found a bug in <foo> compiler"
Not stupid in itself. But I have to have seen this one at least a hundred times and not one of these posts could deliver on its offer.

Well, I "just" found 72 bug's in Visual Studio 9.0.
