Re: Opening corresponding vsd file from vbIde
You can SHELL() any app. If you can have Visio load a file, you can create a command to open both
-
Re: Opening corresponding vsd file from vbIde
Find the command parameter list for VISIO (check online first)
if you can enter on the command line, things will SHELL() the same way.
Code:
visio.exe MyFile.vsd
I have Visio 14 (from Office 2010) so I can't help with details that would work with old versions
-
Re: Opening corresponding vsd file from vbIde
Doesn't have much to do with VB6, though.
-
Re: Opening corresponding vsd file from vbIde
You should be able to use SHELL() to open the .VSD file, with no other parameters. If you use ShellExecute(), you can specify the program to open the file with. Visio should be the default in this case
-
Re: Opening corresponding vsd file from vbIde
Put in your Installation disk, and BROWSE for the file. It's part of Visio

Re: Opening corresponding vsd file from vbIde
Contact MS support by phone
- installation / upgrade issues are usually no charge

Re: [RESOLVED] Opening corresponding vsd file from vbIde
If it's locked to the grid size, then either change that, or unlock it.
This isn't really VB6, either
-
Re: [RESOLVED] Opening corresponding vsd file from vbIde
Control-Click lets you select multiple items, but you still have to follow the grid, or unlock it
-
Re: [RESOLVED] Opening corresponding vsd file from vbIde
Press F1 for HELP, or choose it from the menu. In the search box, type GRID, and find the information that you need. I usually leave the defaults.

Re: [RESOLVED] Opening corresponding vsd file from vbIde
I don't know. Maybe someone else does. Plus, you marked this thread as RESOLVED. You can remove it, if there are related question in the future
-
Re: Opening corresponding vsd file from vbIde
Thread is no longer marked as resolved. That can only be done by a moderator ;)

Re: Opening corresponding vsd file from vbIde
No such thing as trial purchase. You might be able to download a version that runs for 30 days, but I don't know. If you have Office Ultimate 2007, you get it automatically

Re: Opening corresponding vsd file from vbIde
Erase them, and draw them again?

Re: Opening corresponding vsd file from vbIde
firoz.raj, I have edited the thread and removed the [Resolved] part. I did notice however that this was the third time that this thread needed this type of edit. Please, if a thread is not resolved, do not mark it as such. If a thread has been resolved mark it as such. And, if a thread has been resolved, do not ask new questions in it again, start a New Thread.
Thanx

Re: Opening corresponding vsd file from vbIde
No idea. Why not use VS2008?
-
Re: Opening corresponding vsd file from vbIde
Use the CD that it came on. Otherwise, contact Microsoft. They can help you.
We would post the answer to your question, if we had one. Pretty hard to re-create if we don't have the same thing.

Re: Opening corresponding vsd file from vbIde
Did you read the HELP section online? I found this:
Connect shapes already on the drawing page by using a connector from a stencil
Code:
Drag a connector from a stencil onto the drawing page, position one endpoint on a connection point on one shape, and then position the other endpoint on the connection point on the other shape.
Use this method in diagrams that use specific types of connectors—for example, a 3-D arrow in block or ITIL diagram and network equipment in racks.
Example diagram types: Basic, block, brainstorming, cause and effect, charts and graphs, ITIL, network diagrams, and value stream maps.
Level of control: This method gives you control over the precise point of connection between two shapes.
As you become more familiar with flowcharts, keep in mind that the techniques you u

Re: Opening corresponding vsd file from vbIde
If you have Visio 2007, then it's in the toolbox. Look at the link:

Re: Opening corresponding vsd file from vbIde
Maybe because you aren't connecting to anything lower on the page?
-
Re: Opening corresponding vsd file from vbIde
Download Office 2010 Beta. It's the Ultimate version

Re: Opening corresponding vsd file from vbIde
Why are you working with such a small distance? If it's too small, make it bigger!
When it's done, make it smaller. This took about 10 minutes to do the shapes, and 10 minutes to do the connectors to the shapes. Line things up to the SOLID grid lines (or skip 2 or even 3)
Make the drawing FIRST. Select CONNECTOR, and start FROM the point in a shape, and move to a point in a different shape.
You can't change how it draws the line.
If there's a problem, just group some things, and move the group. Here's a shot of VISIO 2010 Beta (Couldn't figure out how to change arrows, but no time...)
-
Re: Opening corresponding vsd file from vbIde
Start a NEW VISIO chart, and copy one element at a time, until you get the hang of the grid and it's use. When something gets tight, expand it, and group the left side, and move it. Then the right side, and move it.
Then move a section up or down.
When the PICTURE is perfect, then it's time to add the grid lines.

Contact MICROSOFT. They can help you (for NOTHING)

Re: Opening corresponding vsd file from vbIde
Sounds like you didn't install it properly, or else you need to RUN AS the ADMINISTRATOR level account for the first time, at least

Your GOOGLE is broken? Or do you expect everyone to DO YOUR WORK FOR YOU?

Re: Opening corresponding vsd file from vbIde
Only by getting a faster INTERNET connection. That seems kind of slow, but there are probably others sharing it. You could see if they'd get offline for an hour or two
-
Re: [RESOLVED] Opening corresponding vsd file from vbIde
Well one would think that you should do a search for Msxml 6 and see if you can download it.
btw why do you attach jpgs of the error message after you have already posted what the error was? Not much point in doing that. Basically just a waste of bandwidth and server space.

Re: [RESOLVED] Opening corresponding vsd file from vbIde
I just followed the link and it works fine, took less than 30 seconds to download all four files. Could be your connection or maybe you just picked a bad time.

Re: [RESOLVED] Opening corresponding vsd file from vbIde
Pay someone to remove viruses and spyware. If you can't, just redo the OS.
Everything works better!

Re: [RESOLVED] Opening corresponding vsd file from vbIde
So why not install the previous version rather than a BETA version?

sorry i am asking a question in resolved post.can anybody tell me ?how should i get user internet usage percentange report.in ISA Server 2006 .let me know please.:D:D:D
-
Re: [RESOLVED] Opening corresponding vsd file from vbIde
Not only are you asking in a thread that is mark resolved but your question has nothing to do with the topic.
-
Re: [RESOLVED] Opening corresponding vsd file from vbIde
This is the Visual Basic 6 forum, not the ISA Forum. Microsoft has one.
You could try Chit-Chat
-
Re: [RESOLVED] Opening corresponding vsd file from vbIde
And the thread topic is about opening a VSD file so ...
-
Re: [RESOLVED] Opening corresponding vsd file from vbIde
Sorry. Not a VB6 question, as we've said
-
Re: [RESOLVED] Opening corresponding vsd file from vbIde
Yes but not legally. You will need to buy it.

Less buttons to clutter up the screen?

Re: [RESOLVED] Opening corresponding vsd file from vbIde
At least the IE8 I'm using has an item "Import and Export..." on the File menu. It starts a wizard that lets you export stuff, including the favorites, into a single file that you can store wherever you want, including a flash drive. Should be easy enough to use.
HTH
-
Re: [RESOLVED] Opening corresponding vsd file from vbIde
Re-importing isn't the only thing you can do with the export file generated by this process. It is a HTML file that you can open in IE (using File Open or by double-clicking it in Windows Explorer for instance) and you'll see your favorites lined up as klickable links.
BTW, you probaly would do people a favor by stopping to recycle antique threads for your new questions that don't even have anything to do with the topic of the new question at all.
