If I remeber correctly MDAC caused an error under Vista. Could be the same thing in Windows 7.
Your best bet IMO is to use the virtual machine and XP Mode in windows 7.
Well first you need to download it from M$ but if you search with your friends raj, you will find answers to your problems already published on several sites... Like tek-tips.com in the vb5/6 forum or over at vbforums.com in their vb6 forum or here http://www.adras.com/VB6-on-Windows-...t22181-16.html and I thought we here had a thread like this one recently...
Good Luck
Download it, Install it, Launch it. It will give you a clean virtual image of XP within Windows 7 and is quite useful. I have several configurations on my Windows 7 PC. The USB ports are a bit tricky to use with some hardware but so far that is the only issue I have encountered.
I use VB6, Embedded VB, VS2003, VS2005 and VS2008 all in different virtual machines.
No such issue here. There has to be a different reason. Did you run as ADMIN when you installed?
even when i tried to install in Windows xp .i am getting error Visual basic 6.0 Enterprise Setup
was not completed Successfully.Kindly let me know the idea.Kindly find the attachment also.
I always select no as I do not use Visual Source Safe. I use a program of my own (which I am fixing up slowly but surely...)... So, is UAC off? And did you run as admin?
UAC=User access control. You will find it in Vista and Windows 7 in the control panel. It will prevent programs from doing many things on your system without your permission if on which is the default state.
i am getting this error.when progress bar finish.when it starts updating value in registry.Quote:

i did not get user access control option . in Windows 7.Quote:

Just type UAC in the search box, and you'll see the CHANGE dialog. I suggest you leave it at the highest setting.
Un-install whatever you have now. Browse the CD. Right-Click on SETUP, and select RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR and you will have permission to write to the registry
That would be the HIGHEST setting. Good to use every day, but not if you think you have a problem. Move it to the bottom, if you want to turn it off.
Go to Program Features, and see if traces are there. REMOVE THEM!!!
Then, right-click on SETUP.EXE and run as ADMINISTRATOR. It will work.
If you are also having a problem installign under XP then the UAC is not the issue as it does not exist under XP. I would suspect the installation media in this case.
Is this a CD, DVD, ISO? Is it offical direct from Microsoft or a Warez from a web site somewhere?
Programs and Features, in Control Panel. It's where you Add/Remove Programs in Vista/Windows 7
it would be under that. scroll down!
Again if it is also not working under XP then there is another issue. See my post at the bottom of the first page in this thread.
Some times .after finally during Installation.it is referring to the attached Web Site.Kindly find the
attachment .and let me know the idea.
You want us to contact Microsoft for you? btw, we won't
firoz.raj Is there a reason that you did not bother to answer the question as to the source of the installation media? Should I assume that it is not a legit copy and perhaps that is the source of the problem?
if really it is .then i want to purchase Original version vb6 for my Laptop and Computer.can you tell me any Portal Link on the web to purchase vb6(Original Version). Kindly let me know the idea.Any help would be highly appreciated.Quote:

Good Luck
i think these are for Corporate Installation So expensive.i want to use personally for my laptop and pc.
Vb is not a cheap piece of software. The pro version listed on NextTag is roughly $400 this is for a single PC.
While it is more expensive the better value for a developer is the MSDN pro roughly $1200 for a first timer but you get VB6 Enterprise edition, VS2003, 2005, 2008 All MS OS for testing as well as support. In fact you get 1 year of access to the subscriber site where you can download all these and more plus any new version of these which may be released during that year. After you are a memeber you can renew at a lower cost.
No, that is how much visual studio is going for and if you want to develop professionally off of your computer using that software suite, you have to pay that price or face jail time and fines that are equal to or more than likely greater than any profit you made from selling your software but if you look further, you will find cheaper prices...
Good Luck
ok i will request to my boss for purchase this for my laptop first.Kindly tell me the link.Quote:

You must purchase it if you want to use it legally. Yes better to purchase VS2008 better still to purchase MSDN which gets you VB6 and VS2003 2005 2008 and 2010 as well as other goodies.
