C++ Command Window to .xls file

I want to save the result of some math operations to a .xls file for the ease to watch the math result.The math operations written in C++ functions. How i manage the .xls file using C++ functions

Write them as text to a file and separate the indivudual results by a comma/TAB/semicolon or whatever. Such a file can be opened and interpreted by excel.

To create the excel file directly you have to use excel automation (google for it) and that's quite a lot of work.
