Here is a photograph taken at a pristine lake called Obersee in the Alps...
The peak you see in the background is The Watzmann - the second highest in Germany at 2713 m above sea level.

Here is how the world looks from this peak...
The lake you see in the background (in the photos above and below) is The Koenigsee (literally translated: King's Lake). The water here is so clean and clear that it is said to be of drinking-water quality!
Initially I had planned taking a swim in this lake what with the day time temperatures being a pleasant 28°C. But, my mind quickly changed when I dipped my feet in the water. It took some serious rubbing to bring them out of my closest experiences with frost-bite. :D
This lake is created by the valley as you would see below...
