vb6 and SOAP to access web service
I have written following code to access a asp.net method in web service.
Dim oClient As New MSSOAPLib30.SoapClient30
Dim strg() As String
oClient.mssoapinit "http://localhost/WebSite3/Service.asmx?WSDL"
strg() = (oClient.GetCityName(""))
I have used soap tool kit.
It works fine with any computer except my computer. It gives an error saying "The system can not locate the resources specified"
It gives this error for both web service in the internet as well as web service on localhost.
Please help me in this regard.
Thanks in advance

Re: vb6 and SOAP to access web service
localhost only works... LOCALLY
Supply the IP address of your computer (within your network) or the Router Address (with IP forwarding to YOUR IP address)
You can even get a dynamic name, so you can use a domain name to access it.
Re: vb6 and SOAP to access web service
Thanks for reply. I tried even giving ip address of the local machine. it didn't work. In the other machine works fine with localhost as well as ip address both locally and internet. Please help
Re: vb6 and SOAP to access web service
Firewall, AV Software, any one of a dozen reasons, depending on what OS.
can you PING the machine? Browse? Remote In?
