  1. Re: Get all tables under a database in Postgre

    Sorry, Postgre is like a dark forest for me. :cry:
  2. Re: Get all tables under a database in Postgre

    Is it possible to create/have a table not belonging to any database? :confused:

    Re: New file inclusion problem on legacy code

    What prevents you to return the CSimulator instance rather than the pointer to a temporary created object? :confused:

    Re: New file inclusion problem on legacy code

    Sometimes the order of #includes and also the order of declarations does matter.
    However, without seeing your code it's hard to guess.
  6. Re: Occcont.cpp error when migrating old VS2005 application to Visual Studio

    I guess it is a design flaw of the Microsoft MFC team: rather than show the real path on the user machine they output the path of the file stored on some their developer machine.
    The same was in VS...
  7. Re: How to "FormatMessage()" my "WSAGetLastError()"

    Well, did you try any of suggestion from these discussions in CG:
  8. Re: How to "FormatMessage()" my "WSAGetLastError()"

    Sorry, I never used this flag (FORMAT_MESSAGE_FROM_HMODULE).
    Have a look at these threads:

  9. Re: How to "FormatMessage()" my "WSAGetLastError()"

    This code worked for me:

    DWORD dwErr = GetLastError();
    LPVOID lpMsgBuf;
    FormatMessage(
    FORMAT_MESSAGE_ALLOCATE_BUFFER |
    FORMAT_MESSAGE_FROM_SYSTEM | ...

    Re: Float point number simple arithmetic.

    Take your calculator and perform the following actions:
    1. convert decimal 0,1 to binary (OK, in HEX)
    2. truncate it to the max available length for the float
    3. multiply to itself
    4. convert the...
  11. Re: Is it safe to locally use arrays, vectors and calloc when multi-threading

    I agree with 2kaud.
    You schuld leave the using calloc (or a simillar alloc operation) in c-code.
    In C++ you have to use new/delete. Better - some already implemented (std) container classes.

    Well, if the OP is so patient to wait for a possible solution for almost 18 months then yep, it could help him! :D

    Re: HeapAlloc memory manipulation

    HeapAlloc just allocates some block of memory, it has no idea what type of data is about to be stored there,
    It's up to you to cast the returned LPVOID pointer to the type you need. Like

    LPSTR...

    Re: MFC CRectTracker

    I never user this class and have no idea how and why should it be used.
    however, you could start with the Microsoft sample Tracker

    Re: How do I get rid of "Ready" in Status Bar

    I never needed to set the status bar text before status bar has been created.

    Yes! If it is already developed/created and does work, then why not? ;)

    Because it worked for me since decades...

    Re: wait .. no blocking

    We had _beginthread(ex)/_endthread(ex) to use in a plain c++/Win32 applications and a little...
  21. XML Re: Xpath expression to extract value from a node/element

    1. Please, post every code/script.xml block to be properly formatted and indented. Use Code tags for this.
    Example: you write:

    indentation ...
    and we will see
    some code...

    Re: wait .. no blocking

    Well, both "condition variables" that you meant (std::mutex) and MS Event Objects (Synchronization) are synchronization objects. So I do not see any difference.
    However, I never used std::threads,...

    Re: TRACE MACRO problem in MFC

    Wouldn't you like to change this to something like

    {
    tri = TriBuf->m_listoftriangles.GetAt(pos);
    res = tri->depth;
    TRACE("\ngetnext distance %lf \n", res);
    }
