Seriously though, I did see one person swim and am all praises to his mental stamina and his taste in inflicting self-torture.

Thanks, Abhishek...
Though, honestly speaking - the photos do poor justice to the place itself!

This lake is created by the valley as you would see below...
Thats realy a great place.
You are lucky man.

How do you manage to visit so many places? These people here don't even allow us enough leaves? I hate them so much for bringing such work culture in India.. it is ruining lives.. There is so much in life beyond work! I have always wanted to visit mountains with rivers fighting their way through and the sound of their run-ins. Trees bowing their heads in respect to the winds... birds conversing in a language that I would never understand... Aahh... it hurts!

Good question.
If I told you that I drove 5500 kms in the last 25 days - and 90% of those in the weekends - would you believe me?
I didn't use a single day's leave... Not that I haven't enough, or didn't want to - but, project's deadlines at this moment don't let me take workdays off.

But, as you may have noticed above - even enjoying a good vacation takes a reasonable amount of effort. An effort that photos don't convey...
(Koenigsee for instance is 600 kms from home - no kidding!)
Nevertheless, lucky I may be - very lucky perhaps - to want to make that effort.

Yes, efforts are very much required
Previously GremlinSA's South Africa trek realy inspired me to do something, now your pictures create urge in my brain to get up and go on vacation somewhere real good place.

...And very often - beautiful places are less than 6 hours of travel away. One just needs to get the hell out on a friday evening, and return on Sunday night, or a Monday morning!

hm... as Sid said you can find lotta cool places nearby. When I was at Mumbai / Pune, we office guys would team up and head on weekend treks to nearby places. It needn't be a big one, but even a nearby visit to a new place can rejuvenate you and help reduce the stress at work. Am not sure where you are located, but there ought to be getaway places anywhere. It's just that you have to find the time for it. And if you really want to do it, you will always find the time for it

Unfortunately not. I didn't pass the interview.
They asked me: "how many bricks you need to build a house?".
I confused bricks with lines of code and answered: "between one and half of million".
