    Happy Vijaya Dashami/Dushera

It seems like yesterday when I think Sahir started the thread for Dushera last year. One year has passed so quickly.

The govenment offices and schools have closed (i.e. from Firday, tomorrow) for more than a week of festivities.

    Happy Vijaya Dashami/Dushera to all.

Did you guys enjoy? Did you see Ravana heads floating in the sky? Crackers? How were dussera celebrations?

I am planning to have a great diwali...

Did any Gandhigiri? 2 movies are being sent for oscar nominations from India - Rang De Basanti and Lage Raho Munnabhai... all the best to them..

Somebody was telling me that few people have started a Gandhigiri club in pune, these guys watch traffic & *honor* the rule breakers with big grin and *phoolon ki mala* etc.

Yeah.. its all around the country.. these two movies have had a great impact.

At IIM (Lucknow or Bangalore, don't remember exactly) - they were trying to get the hostel maintenance people do something for about 2 months. They were not responding. Then what these guys did - they (in all about 50 folks) planned to make one call each on the same day to the contractor asking very generously to do the job. It were to be 50 'gentle' reminders without using any foul language or losing temper at all.. very gentle requests.. and just at hearing that something like this was being planned.. those guys came and finished the work in 2 days.. Amazing.. isnt it? Gandhiji has relevance today too!

Agree, this should become big and bigger, but as we have seen most of the time it decays.

Yup.. it decays but this impact even is good in a way. Even if it loses its current form atleast some good things will be always in people's mind at some corner. Surely, it has penetrated inside their thick surface. Building upon this is a challenge - I don't know how good our leaders are at that but surely individuals can take up their shares.

Hm.. interesting.. I haven't watched the movie yet. Sounds like I should. I was reading up on timesofindia about Sunjay Dutt talking about Gandhigir and such.. Was thinking it was yet another political move ..

Watched both the movies Part I and Part II. Both of them splendid. Both are such movies that one gets the same enjoyment even after watching several times. However I liked PartI better than Part II. Now waiting for Part III.
