Which Language is best for Web Development?

I'm a web developer at DubaiMN, and I would like to know, what do you think which language is best and fastest for website development?

If you’re a web developer, I assume you know some programming languages already. The best language for web development is the one you are good at. This will make the work faster. It will also be easy for you to try things out and experiment with things.

I'd say... "depends on the server software you'll be running".

If you'll be running Microsoft IIS, then most dev will probably done with .NET languages (pick whichever you know best).

If you'll be running Apache, then most dev will probably be done with php, it's unlikely you'll even be able to use .NET so any experience you have on those won't help you at all.

You'll probably also need a decent knowledge of SQL.
