    Programming certification

    Hi to all,

Nowadays every skill has a certification, like MCITP, CCNA and so on. What about the programming? For example, apart from the universal degrees, is there any certification on C++ programming language? Someone that wants to be employed in a e.g., company, will need it so much to prove his ability, I think.

A quick search came up with this,

    http://www.cppinstitute.org/

Appearantly they also offer a free preparation course.

Personally I'm quite sceptical to programming language certifications. Especially if you have a university degree and/or job experience. I'm not convinced they measure programming ability. Being able to solve problems like these is a much better indicator in my view,

But certification may still pay off of course. In some situations it can probably give you an edge and help you land a job.
