Active Directory - What is the meaning of "protecting with RMS"?
Hello,
I want to use the AD RMS SDK but I don't understand what happens there with the files and what it means to protect the files with RMS.
Can someone answer me in a simple english, please?
1. What is the meaning of "protecting with RMS", besides getting the rights like (read, write, export, print ...) from the templates and serving this to the clients?
2. What happens with the files?

Re: Active Directory - What is the meaning of "protecting with RMS"?
Digital Rights Management typically uses encryption techniques to protect the content so that it can only be used by a specific set of users. So, your files would probably end up being encrypted. I cannot encourage you to use DRM, and because I have no experience with the RMS SDK, this is just an educated guess.
Nobody cares how it works as long as it works
