ERROR 1063: ERROR_FAILED_SERVICE_CONTROLLER_CONNECT When creating a Windows Service..
I keep getting the following Error:
1063: ERROR_FAILED_SERVICE_CONTROLLER_CONNECT (The service process could not connect to the service controller) when I call the following code when writing a Windows Service in WinAPI and C++...
Code:
BOOL dispatcherSuccess = FALSE;
SERVICE_TABLE_ENTRY service[] =
{
{serviceName, (LPSERVICE_MAIN_FUNCTION)ServiceMain},
{NULL, NULL}
};
dispatcherSuccess = StartServiceCtrlDispatcher(service);
if(dispatcherSuccess == FALSE)
{
std::cout << "ERROR with code: " << GetLastError() << std::endl;
}
else
{
std::cout << "Successfully started Service Control Dispatcher..." << std::endl;
}
Is there anyone with experience writing Windows Services that can advise as to what is causing this error? The Service itself is quite a lot of code so I'm hesitant to link everything but can if you really need to read through it...
