Best book to learn Visual C++ from scratch?
Looking for a book that can teach Visual C++ from scratch to an absolute beginner, I mean someone who can't write a word of code. Which book is that?

For an intro book on C++, I recommend "Beginning C++20: From Novice to Professional" by Ivor Horton
https://smile.amazon.co.uk/Beginning...835/ref=sr_1_3
For a free on-line resource, I also recommend:
https://www.learncpp.com
All advice is offered in good faith only. All my code is tested (unless stated explicitly otherwise) with the latest version of Microsoft Visual Studio (using the supported features of the latest standard) and is offered as examples only - not as production quality. I cannot offer advice regarding any other c/c++ compiler/IDE or incompatibilities with VS. You are ultimately responsible for the effects of your programs and the integrity of the machines they run on. Re: Best book to learn Visual C++ from scratch?
Visual C++ was once a free-standing product but has become part of Microsoft Visual Studio. There is a free community edition available,
https://visualstudio.microsoft.com/downloads/
Select "Desktop development with C++" during installation, and you end up with today's equivalent of Visual C++.
Visual Studio is an integrated development environment (IDE) that allows you to write, compile and run C++ programs. It is from Microsoft, but C++ itself is from an independent standardization committee,
https://isocpp.org/
So learning C++ can be daunting. There is both the IDE and the language to master.

For info re VS setup, intro etc see
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/vi.../?view=vs-2022
Note that this covers other languages apart from C++ (eg, c#, python, Visual Basic etc)

They will help understand how to use the WIN32 APIs for Windows programming - not how to learn C++
