best language for chess like game

Does anyone know what the best language for creating a chess like game would be? The game I'm making isn't chess but it would be a lot like chess.

Debugging is twice as hard as writing the code in the first place.
Therefore, if you write the code as cleverly as possible, you are, by
definition, not smart enough to debug it.

I'd say just about any platform or language will work ... It depends on how well you know the language and the development platform that will be the deciding factor...

I'm great with VB, above average with ASP, below ave with C++, and suck with Java..

However i would not dare try to develop with Fortran or Pascal as i have no idea's there, even if they may be the better choice. As with my limited knowledge of those languages i'd end up doing things the long(wrong) way and posibly have something that sucks worse than had i done it in VB.

Use the Language you are best familiar with......

Get Microsoft Visual C++ Express here or CodeBlocks here.
Get STLFilt here to radically improve error messages when using the STL.
Get these two can't live without C++ libraries, BOOST here and Loki here.
Check your code with the Comeau Compiler and FlexeLint for standards compliance and some subtle errors.
Always use
code tags
to make code legible and preserve indentation.

Yesterday, whike playing a local online game, a boy/girl called me a hooker after he/she failed for me in the 1-1 fight match.
The next match I failed and I was called an idiot!. I then replied "eh Hore"
