Going from C# to C++...
I'm just looking for opinions out there - what is the feeling when it comes to trying to go to programming in Visual C++/MFC when one has only C# experience?
Myself, I havent done much with C#, but I sense to go from C++ to C# would be a lot easier.
Trying to fill a developer position and would like someone w/C++ experience, but a lot of the candidates we are getting is programmers with just C# experience. Just wondering what kind of learning curve there would be for that individual (versus an entry level programmer with no experience at all).
Thanks,
Greg

Re: Going from C# to C++...
In a previous job I saw candidates come in who had C# experience primarily and they did well. They were bright and I think they had had some knowledge of C++ so that helped.
I didn't go that direction myself as a C++ programmer so just something I observed really if that helps.
I'm sure there be other responders here who have done the transition for themselves.
On a side note, you can always figure out their ability to pick up C++ by getting them to complete some coding exercises in the interview if they look like strong candidates.
