    reading from file

Does anyone know how to read a line of input and get all control characters...it seems to be stripping them out before I get it into evaluate in code.

    Any ideas?

thanks for any help you can provide.

    Re: reading from file

If you read a line using the Line Input statement, VB will automaticcaly strip off the carridge return and linefeed characters.
What you could do is read the file in one time, and then loop through the string looking for vbcrlf using the Instr function. However, this may get very slow when you are dealing with large files.
