Linking Access and Excel
Can anyone help?
I have a database, which produces 141 queries per month. These queries are updated every month. The database is restricted to certain individuals, however i would like the queries to be viewed.
One option discussed is to record a macro, which goes into the database and copies and pastes the contents of the query into a designated area of the spreadsheet. This is no problem, i could record macro's showing each querie. The problem arises because the database is altered every month so the recorded macro will display the same information over and over again. Is it possible to update the recorded macro as the database is updated. Any suggestions????
This may be easier however i am not sure if its possible. Is it possible to allow a user into the database with say a password ONLY giving them read-only access to the queries, no other part of the dbase i.e.forms???
I would greatly appreciate any help or if n e one could point me in the right direction.

Setup the user with permissions for specific items ( forms, queries, reports etc ...) What do you mean you want the query to be viewed? You want to see the recordset of the query? The SQL syntax?

I want the filtered queries to be viewed and thats all, i dont want anyone to have access to the database just the queries. I was trying to use a macro to drag out the information from the query but if its possible to simply lock down the database and simply give access to the queries, that may be an idea.
