(not using mfc..) I want to make a child window with a caption that is contained in my parent window ( a homemade frame window ). I used spy++ on another app that does this to make sure I was using all the right window styles and stuff, and I create the child window with my frame as its parent. Everything works ok, except my child windows captions are inactive!! They are drawn grayed, even when you click them to bring them to the front.

My parent/frame is drawn right with an active title bar. What am I doing wrong?

please help
