does anyone know why i might be getting this error?

m_objRS is of type ADOR.Recordset

m_objRS.AddNew <--ERROR [The operation requested by the application is not supported by the provider]

m_objRS.Fields("ID") = 1
m_objRS.Fields("CEO") = 2

m_objRS.Update

why would that give me an unsuporrted error? if it's not provided then why does the AddNew .. Update procedures exist?
