Crystal Reports searches the whole table for 1 record !!

Using Crystal Reports 4.6 on MSSQL Server 6.5, it keeps reading ALL records from

a table, even if it's selection formula returns only one record. This gets complicated when I have more then 1M of records, so please help ?
