Internship

I am a student of Computer Science, now in my 6th half-year, at a University of Applied Sciences in Germany.
As part of the course of studies all students are required to do two internships, about six to nine months each.

Courses at university (in parts):
Digital Circuit Design, Object Orientated Programming,
Telecommuication, Computer and Data Networks,
Microprocessing Systems, Operating Systems

Skills:
C++ incl. MFC, Java, basic konwledge of SQL and Linux

Apart from improving my English skills in an english speaking country and putting my knowledge, gained at
university, into action, I expect to get more practical experience.
This internship should start in march/april 2003.

Can anyone give me a hint/address or any helpful stuff where to apply for an internship in an english speaking country?
