    I have VC++ 4.0, how to get 4.2?

    I know it would be better to get VC++5 or 6, but this is what my company has at the moment. We have Visual C++ 4.0 and I know there are a couple of fixes on the 4.2 version. Where can I get that upgrade? Is there any cost on getting it?

    Thanks for any information you can give me,

    Jose

    Very simply:

    first way

    go to Ukraine, Kiev;

    buy for 15$ all what do you want: VC4++, VC5++, VC6++ and later...

    second way

    buy for 2000$ in microsoft corp. and be happy.

    Sorry to say this Jose, but I think it's time for you company to do what "would be better": upgrade to the latest version of VC++.

    I hope for your sake that you CAN'T get VC++ 4.2 so that your company has no choice but to do the right thing.

    Good luck!

    I agree with Alvaro, pls get VC++ 6 (it's sp2 now). There're a lot of differences between the 2 versions. The bigger the gap between the versions, the MORE TIME and MONEY you gonna spend making them to work. It's not going to cost too much getting VC6.0 compare to the amount of work, time and money u'r going to throw away when you do decide to upgrade to the latest version.

    Jose;
    Call MS's Product who-ever and ask them if they have the 4.2 available (pro edition), if not INQUIRE about the VC++ 5.0 or VC++ 6.0 Pro upgrade. It'll be the most cost efficient way for your company to upgrade to the stuff the big boys are using. Good luck my friend
