How to stop MSDN dialing up my ISP on modem each time I update page!

My MSDN help browser keeps starting the dialup networking proccess. It has only recently started doing this and it is highly aggravating. How do I disable this?

    Snap!

I've just installed a copy of Visual Studio 6, and now every time I boot up, the modem tries to dial! I hope someones got a solution to this!

    Cheers,
    Craig.

I have a similar problem -- in VC++ 6.0, when I am using Help, periodically, for no apparent reason, it brings up MSN dial up dialog.

It might be you internet settings. Control Panel->Internet Settings or options->Connections->Settings-> click 'Do Not allow Internet programs to use this connection' for each dial up connection. I am assuming you are using win98. I am not sure about WinNt

    Re: Possible solution

Bring up the dial-up networking window and in the connections menu choose settings. In the option
    When making a network connection..
    choose:
Don't prompt to use dial-up networking.
