Have you guys experienced meeting someone you have never seen, and in the instant your eyes met.. BAM! There's a connection: as if you've known each other your entire lives?? Is that love at first sight?

And then the you two started to talk and had an easy conversation. You found out you two have a lot of things in common. You feel this unseen force that just compels you to spend more time with this person...

But then, after some time... one or both of you said something stupid and later parted ways... does that mean it wasn't love at first sight?

So, how does one know if it's love at first sight anyways? IMO, one can never really know for sure at that instant (on first meeting), if it's really love they feel (and I'm not talking about physical attraction here). Some time has to pass... I think.

Yes. Although I wouldn't bet on such situation-feelings. You don't know the person, neither if it is really someone you would like to spend your entire life with.

Love does not only consist of being in the rush of hormon's producing mind disturbing feeling (the "love-makes-blind"-thing). As ideru stated, for me, this is a rush of lust/hormons; and has nothing to do with real love. I don't neglect that it is a good feeling but it's not a persistant one... It's almost what you already stated:

A rush of love like feelings on first sight? Yes of course, although deeper love (as trust, going hand in hand with real love) can only grow in time. A time that brings ups and downs, and if you really love some one you may go through the downs without breaking up. And only if you drop your own ego, you might be able to spend more than a couple of years with someone.

I myself used to believe in this. But no longer, and so I voted no.

But then again, we'll never know right? I might be walking one day... and then, BAM!.....
I just banged my head on a lightpost or something... because I wasn't looking at where I'm going.

If Love means Strong strong Attraction, then yes, I believe in first sight love.

But if love defines to be "trust, care, affection, giving without thinking of any any return", I guess no, because you realy need to know that person which is highly impossible in first sight.

Hmmm....

I do believe that sometimes there is an instant connection when meeting some girl, but it's only after the first meeting / date / interrogation / interview that I'll make a decision on taking it further.

Real Love at first sight, I'm doubtful about that - you do get an attraction at first sight, yes, but if it's really as powerful as love - I don't know.

When I met my new PC, I did fall in love instantly however...

I answered NO.

I believe at first sight its more towards attractions to something that pleased the viewer, in the case of human I think its a part of lust/sexuality. However giving time to experience that "something" would actually bring the deep, tender, ineffable feeling of affection which is called LOVE.
