    Free Mick now!

What gives? This is BS. Why is Mick banned? What absurd reason would justify getting him banned?

/coders should not fear the forums, it is the forums that should fear the coders.

Mick will be freed I guess, I do not know any reasoning behind banning him, but I think that it is only temporary ban, for one day, week or something. The question is, will he ever come back after this hapened. I bet that he sent very juicy reply to 'This is automated message, please do not reply: You are temporarily banned...' email.

I think this is what he wanted - he could take it no longer.

    He committed Moderator Suicide.

It was hard at the end, but he is happy now.
He said "everything is OK now, everything is OK".

No way! I also don't think that Mick should be banned. Just wondering if someone can help explaning why. Or it is that Mick has wandered too far off into the X-Files region?

He aired some dirty laundry about cilu and ovi... they pushed each other's ratings up back in the day and the powers that be in CG don't like that .

I don't think it is too serious to get hum ban. Just some warnings and everything else should be okay.

Did Cilu and Ovi cheat their ways to get ratings?

    Yes they did.

That and ovi was trying to be cute at one point and decided to give me negative ratings... thinking he could get away (remember the time when the ratings didn't have a name attached to them? yeh), but when Brad turned on the names, you could se who did what and I knew .

Ya . And now he's a mod. There was another little punk that gave me a negative rating for no reason... the name escapes me at the moment, I'd get it if I could review my ratings from the past better.

But he's not the only 'issue' (if you can put it that way.)

I do believe that Brad inadvertedly played a role in CG's 'decline'. He's just not around as often on CG. It seems that the corporation that runs this forum has become detached from the member that use it. The first sign for me was with the new advertising scheme , the whole thing worked well under the old one. I'm not going to go off on some retarted socialist wet-dream that everything should be free blah blah blah. Codeguru's operator is a company, a for-profit company, who have employees and stakeholders to answer to, so it's expected that they make a buck. And I can dig that. Brad has two young kids and it wouldn't surprise me if he's already planning for their college and such (which takes $$$.) Employees are expected to be paid, but alienating alot of people in order to make a few bucks extra was a short-sighted move .

That and it seems that Brad not around as often... just not here. It would be best to have someone who can be here more often and supervise the forum more closely (otherwise the mistake of making ovi and cilu mods would have never happened.) I can digg if Brad is simply busy with other things that might go on, we all take twists and turns in our professional lives and if he's busy with other stuff, that's not necessarily a bad thing, just need someone who's here more often.

But don't get me wrong, Brad did do good things for this place. When CG first started out, it wasn't as spify (as I remember from one of the many conversations that I've read before.) During that time, CG became not just a coders' forum, but _the_ coders' forum. So ya, he did lots of good back in the day.

And I don't blame him for the rating system, when it first came out it was new, it was cool, it was a new toy (remember the first cellphone?) Mick didn't like it, but plenty of others did and by pure popularity, the idea has won over. But ya, some people don't like it now and I think I understand why, it became all about egos and not as much about coding.

I'd probably say that the fact that the powers that be in CG have simply become too detached from the members here and got senior members like Mick a tad peeved, so they bounced, which isn't a good thing when n00bs try to move on to more complex coding ventures and those experts are not there to guide them .

Mick is not banned permanently. And just to make it clear, I wasn't the one that banned him, even though he said false things about me, that I used multiple usernames here and gave him negative reputation points. For the rest I will not comment, since it's not about me.
