Multiple Column Combos

I am Using VB6 (SP3), and which to create a multiple-column combo box (preferably a drop-down list style)

I don't mind whether this is done run-time or design-time, but I cannot work out how to do this (or if it is possible - the help implies it is). I seem to remember in VB5 setting a multiple-column property to true, but I can't find any such property in VB6.

Any help greatly appreciated.

The Columns property applies only to the Listbox control. With the Columns property you can set the number of columns in the listbox.

No such property applies to the Combo box control.

The closest you can do with a Combo box is to use a font such as Courior New and use Tab characters to seperate the items listed into columns. This takes a lot of source code to get the list to look good.

you can't do it directly, but you could write your own ocx

The combo box that comes with MSFORMS.OCX has multi-line support, i have read. I haven't used but.

With a lot of pain, you can do it your-self too, but may be better off using a ocx
