Re: Where are great oldies of CG forums? :)
When I first joined codeguru, there was a Russian who had the highest reputation, Igor Soukhov. That was in the old rating system where each forum had a its own chart and I worked my way to the top of the chart for the Non-Visual C++ forum. Then 2002 happened, the big software engineering crash here and I was out of programming work for a while and left the forums at the same time, returning a lot later.

It is really good to have you back here NMTop40... 2002 was a major crash... the writers of programmers career were not good coders... that was prone to crash... probably it has been fixed.. or we can expect another crash in a few years... but things, to me, look more stable.

Hey, they can't ban all of us!
Come comrads let us take to the streets! The burjuva regime must crumble! The blood of the programmers oil the machinery of the CG database!

Yes, they can. It's called shutting down CodeGuru.
But why cause problems?

If they ban all the old timers and all the active members, all that will be left on CG will be 13 year olds coming online to ask stupid questions like "How can I simulate a cedit card number without getting caught?"

Mick was the only one of the "old-timers" who was banned. The rest, just had better things to do, such as jobs.

My boss considers this to be one of my sources and ways of increasing my knowledge of programming. In short, he lets me use CG for about 30 minutes a day.
