Nothing better but rating my post as negative, huh? Thanks for replying.

Ratings aren't personal attacks, they are meant to increase the value of the newsgroup as a whole. As it happens, your post doesn't fall into the category of Visual Basic Programming - hence the Wrong Topic rating. it isn't a rating of you, it just lets the rest of know that this post isn't about programming and thats all.

    Have a good day.

Hmm, what if my page is completely related to VB? Is it still off topic?

    Chris Eastwood - please advise...

I'm not sure. I think that's a question that would be best answered by the newsgroup moderator (Chris Eastwood). I know you've been a member of this group for a while, and you've seen what kind of messages are posted, so you must admit, that even though your question was interesting, it doesn't exactly fall under the realm of a VB programming question.

Re: Chris Eastwood - please advise...

    Hmmm

I'm not too sure myself - it is a VB programming site, so it's kind of related. Believe me, if it was any kind of spam, I'd have removed it right away.

Then again, we did have a post yesterday 'what is cold-fusion?' - that's not VB related either and no-one rated that with a -ve.

I don't think that the ratings are a personal attack on anyone, it's just a way of rating the relevance and usefulness of a post.

I'd rather people posted VB-only related matters on this board, and used the General Discussion / Developer Forums for anyother type of programming issue (you're more likely to get a response on those boards too).

Thanks Chris, I found a lot of program on the tucows.com site but all nice programs are shareware so to buy them just because I want to submit my site once is dumb, thanks for the link again.
