Exclamation What would you rather do?

Well personally I rather go to hell because being non-existing is too restricted. I mean you can't even think to yourself. Try and just think how it would be not to think. Its completely confusing and its litrelly the WORST fate ANYONE can have.

Non-Existant, just for the fact that if you go to hell you technically dont exist anyway but your also getting pineapples the size of school buses shoved up your butt.

Quite thinking technically and thing religiously. The reason I chose Hell was because at least you could understand what is happening around you(God wouldn't make you non-existent then punish you as that simply has not affect). Being non-existent doesn't even allow you to understand anything. Trust me if you understood the value of life you would understand.

Grrr, you're just not understanding it! OK, let's put it this way, if you end up being non-existing then there is no point of your life to start with because you would remember NOTHING! And that's just one aspect of non-existence.

The life would still make sense.
    You would still have:
    • Participated, during your life, to the gradual improvement of the world.
    • Got children (if you had) who represent yourself (in part) for next generations.

I would said that 50% of my life must be used to directly or indirectly perpetuate the work of my parents, and 50% is entirely new and owned by nobody other than the most personal part of myself.

And that's just one aspect of non-existence.
Personally, I would prefer to go to hell. But I expect to go to heavens. I'm not a bad person.

Perhaps. Except it only exists in the Catholic dogma. Well, anyway, hell means eternal damnation; why would anyone choose that? I would rather prefer non-existance.

Hell means eternal damnation for some religions, for others it is not.

For the Chinese Taoist belief(Please note Chinese living in Communist China do not believe in these as most of them are atheists), everyone of us goes to hell for the sins which we have done for this life. Very rarely or seldom, people goes to Heaven, only the kindest people goes to Heaven. There are 18 levels of Hell. One may stay in Hell for a few years or hundreds of years, and the severity of the punishment depends on our sins as well. After our punishment is served, we will be released and reincarnated. In other words, for some religions, you get a free ticket to Heaven, but for Taoism, it is a free ticket to Hell! In Taoism, Hell is governed by some gods who reports to the gods in Heaven, Hell symbolize justice, a place where all ghosts or demons are afraid of because that is where justice is served. For the Western belief, Hell is controlled by the Devil and the Devil is free to do anything to you for eternity to come.

Actually, this Taoist Hell belief deter some Chinese from committing great sins as we believe we will pay for it in their afterlife.

I believe I will go to Hell after I die but it is a mild Hell for me as I do not do any great sins in my life.

I'd like to go to heaven, just hope I still have a chance. IMHO, being non-existent is the same as going to hell. Living on earth, sometimes seem as if living in hell for some people

Even in these cases, most people (not all) prefer to "live in hell" than to commit suicide.

Well I guess its true that you make a part of the world but again my view is not understood. Well why should I expect anyone then myself to understand this as we do not think alike. I guess the closest example I can give is, do you people remember the time when you where around 1 seconds old-3 years old? NO! And that feeling is the closest example I can give. And just if anyone cares I "awoke" when I was 6.

Well, as J.P. Sartre put it: "L'enfer, c'est lest autres..." But that's the rather gloomy, existentialist world view...

Well, personally, my earliest memories (demonstrably) go back to the age of 1.5 years... But still: As far as I can tell - before that, I didn't mind the least about my own (conscious) inexistence...

Re: What would you rather do?

I'd rather be non existent than go to hell. I'm pretty much agnostic so I can't prove that anything exists or doesn't exist, but the whole prospect of hell just scares me, and anyways the life I've been living has been complete hell(most especially the past week), so I don't think I need to go through it again.
