Crystal XI Parameter problem

I am converting from 8.5 to XI and in my 8.5 parameters I had a formula in the selection expert where

({TABLE.VALUE} = {?VALUE} OR {?VALUE}='')

bascially if they didn't choose a selection then "blank" for all values. How can this be done in XI, my formula doesn't give an error however it won't pull blank for all? I also noticed that now I have a .... in my parameter in XI and if I leave that selected then it errors out and makes me give a value?

I guess you should check the type, options etc. of the parameter as I do this in CR XI without problems.

I was able to figure it out using the * char. works great.
