Beginning Student
Hello Everyone,
I am new to this site and to Computer Programming in general. I am working toward an associate's degree in the field. I have been doing a lot of research and I have a few questions. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
1. I will graduate early next year. Do you feel it's necessary to pursue a 4 year degree or would certifications in specific languages be enough for most employers?
2. Is there a particular language that is in high demand right now?
3. Are there other technical areas that I should concentrate on to enhance my career?
I know that these are specific questions, but as I am a VERY late bloomer (smile), I don't really have a lot of time to waste so I would be grateful for any thoughts! Thanks ahead of time.

Re: Beginning Student
Get a 4 year college degree. Any certifications that you get will add to it's value in a way that you can't get without it ($$$)

A quite good indicator of the popularity of languages is shown in the Tiobe's index at http://www.tiobe.com/index.php/conte...pci/index.html
