VB For Someone Who Has Never Programmed At All?
As part of the course I'm doing at college, I have to do some VB programming. As someone who has never done any programming before, how hard is it?
Also, are there any tutorials or software I can buy/download to practice?
Thanks.

Well, I'd say it depends on aptitude. Some catch on quickly, while others may never get it.
For tutorials, there are examples on the VB CD. Obviously, this forum and other sites like PlanetSourceCode.com can be very helpful.
But may I ask, since you've apparently been a member for over three years, how/why have you not yet done any programming?
Please remember to rate the posts and threads that you find useful.
How can something be both new and improved at the same time?

Re: VB For Someone Who Has Never Programmed At All?
Welcome!!!!
How hard something is depends more on a persons aptitude than anything else....
HOWEVER, I am really concerned that you (appear to) are using VB 6.0.
This product has been "Dead" since 2004. I would SERIOUSLY question ANY learning institution that is using it.
This is important for a good number of reasons, but the two top ones:
1) Learning it will be very unlikely to provide directly usable knowledge when you enter the job market.
2) It is virtually impossible (there are exceptions) for you to get a LEGAL license to be able to install this on your machine.
I would recommend questing the school/instructor as to WHY they are using such an obsolete environment.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice; in practice there is.

Another issue with learning VB6 at this stage it that vb.net is quite a bit different and a lot of what you may learn in starting to use VB6 will have to be relearned for dot net. I would strongly reccommend starting in vb dot net instead.

Not to mention that there are Express Editions of Visual Studio for quite a few different programming language environments, with new ones added daily, it seems!

Actually it is far from impossible or virtually impossible. A simple web search will turn up several stores that sell the product.
Amazon for example

Also, I have had negative experiences with some bendors (NOT with Amazon!!!) where the license key was in fact previously used and registered.

Aren't we indulging too much on the license side?
