    Software Engineering/Programming

Is it a good field to get into anymore?

I have a BS in Construction Management and an AAS in Computer Science. I'm a construction project manager right now, but I'm a little bored with it. The money is good, but I'm on call all the time.

I was thinking of completing a BS in CompSci or Software Engineering. I'm familiar with Java and C#, but need to work on my C++ skills. However, I'm a little worried about outsourcing.

According to the BLS, programming jobs are supposed to decrease by 4% within the next 10 years. However, software engineering jobs are expected to be one of the best in terms of job growth. That doesn't make much sense to me. I always assumed programmers and software engineers do pretty much the same thing.

In the future, will computer programmers be similar to auto-mechanics? Will there be very little money for what was once a highly sought-after skill? My main area of interest is programming related to building controls/automation (HVAC, Fire Alarms, Security Systems, etc.).

    Your thoughts?

Of course internet will not be trustworthy anymore, don't you read my signature for more information on the reality of web use? It is a web-hosting family that grows by representatives. All companies are represented by people they picked up, they have partially the same last name/ first name or the same born region.
Everywhere you go, if you happen to see panels of bee related stuff, you might or should have in mind you are close to the cheats! BE SURE OF THAT!

Such lies repeats all over the places, till one day no one believes in them at all. Thus jobs reduce. I will live to see that day.
